First off for those that are new to SU - Ive had alot of phones in my Sprint experience- Most recently I used the Moto Q, Treo 755p, Razr 2, Sanyo M1, and Treo 700p.
Initial Impression: When I first saw the box and the packaging I was impressed. I mean the packaging says this phone is special and comes with some useful accessories. 9/10
Keyboard: First day I was looking for an aftermarket application to give me a better keyboard. As an avid texter I was in a whole new arena and coming from the Treo 755p I wasnt comfortable without a physical keyboard. Within a week I was texting like I had a physical keyboard. So approach the keyboard as a week or two learning curve. By the way I still use the touch preinstalled keyboard to this day. 8/10
Screen: Vivid and crisp colors. Love the large screen and makes web browsing really nice. 8/10
Camera: Nice pictures once you know how to adjust the white balance. Pictures are really nice for a cell phone or pictures on the go. Doesnt support picturemail out the box so I have to mark it down for that. Hack is available and I am using it. 7/10
Size: This guy is tiny and powerful. I normally slide mine in my back pocket of my jeans on the weekends and I am good. The touch has it all and to be able to go without a purse on the weekends with a pda is a plus. 8/10
Call Experience: Headset volume is lower than I would like but it doesnt render the phone useless. Phone dialing from the cube is my favorite option. Phone keeps a signal well. Speakerphone is loud. 8.5/10
Applications: Alot of applications out there but I only have 1 game loaded and 1 hack. Thats new for me - My 755p was loaded with alot of software however I have to admit the touch just doesnt need alot of additional software for my use. I use the built in auto profile setting to turn my phone off at a specific work time when I was using the 755p I used profilecare. I use the built in alarm to wake up M-F where I was using butler on my 755p. So although win mobile has some shortcomings it also has some advantages.8.5/10
Overall: I really like the Touch- I am very impressed with the quality of build. I would highly recommend this device and I plan on keeping it a long time and for me thats usually about 6 months. ;) Overall I would give this phone a strong 8/10 rating.
