View Full Version : Sprint never added TEP when I signed up, now my phone is lost...

About a year ago I signed up for sprint, I got a ppc 6700, and made sure to add the insurance place. I received a confirmation email from sprint that had detailed my plan information and sure enough the insurance option was added.

I went two months without noticing that I wasn't even being billed for it, I called Sprint up and told them that I had signed up for insurance, they said since I hadn't reported this within my first 30 days they can't add the insurance. This made me pretty upset, I had added the plan, its not my fault their system made the error.

Yesterday, someone pocketed my phone. I have no insurance and still a year within my contract. I stil have that email from sprint that detailed that I had signed up for the insurance plan but was never billed for it and never added on to my plan.

Can I go in to a sprint store with a copy of this email and see if they can add it? I don't want to leave sprint but I don't feel I should be penalized because of their error.

My guess is that you are out of luck, but you might as well try. You should have pressed the issue when you realized you weren't being billed for TEP. I added TEP to my account through the 1-800 automated system about four weeks after the start of my contract. When I received my second bill it still wasn't added. A quick note to ecare fixed that.

You can try to have them do an "in house" claim.....sometimes, they can push a claim through for someone that is supposed to have the TEP on their account, but for one reason or another(error of the rep, system error) it is not on there. Explain your situation to care, and they should be able to help you out.

exactly, if you have proof, go to your local service and repair location, take your proof with you, and it should be taken care of for you. They should do an in house claim, and then add the insurance for you...problem solved...as long as you have legitimate proof, sprint will help you out
