View Full Version : Ordering SERO

I just thought I'd post here and get any tips or suggestions before I go through and place an order. My contract ends this coming Friday (12/14/07) and I've been wanting a Blackberry 8830 for the longest time now, so the wait is finally coming to an end. I just have a couple of questions:

1. How many days in advance should I order the phone? I want to get it by the 14th so I can cancel my out of contract line and port it over the same day (trying to have as minimal down-time as possible).

2. I'm going to be adding the BB Power Vision plan ($30/month) am I going to have any problem with this? I remember reading that people had problems with the reps adding the old blackberry plans to SERO plans, but is this all worked out now?

3. I'd really like Pick 3 or 5 for free, whats the best way of getting this? Just emailing eCare and giving it a shot?

I was thinking that maybe I should order my new phone/plan in advance and that way it shows that I have both plans and then ask for Pick 3 or 5 for free and if not, maybe threaten to cancel both to get them added? That way I could transfer the OOC when I have my plan is configured the way I want it. I know this sounds kind of shady, but I have a small problem with the SERO 500 plan w/ BB, I use a little over 500 minutes a month (like 600-650) and I'm trying to stay within the budget of <$70 (so Sero 500 + BB + Insurance), so the Pick 3 or 5 would be really beneficial to helping me stay within those minutes. To compare right now my plan is (old F&F plan) 1000 anytime minutes, NW 9 - $45.00 + unlimited texting $15.00, + insurance. I'll be cutting down my minutes a little, but the Pick 3 /5 should easily help me out.

Another question, I was wondering if I'm the only one that can't select the free text messaging option on the services when you select the BB Power Vision plan? I want to have it on my plan, so just in case I decide to switch phones I'll have unlimited texting on that phone as well.

if your trying to port you need to wait until the 15th when the line is OOC before you can do so

and thats the end of my knowledge here, im sure someone else will chime in

You wont have any problems adding the BB plan. As far as pick 3, YMMV. some have had luck adding it, most have not. Mostly due to SERO is already heavily discounted.

Well I'll give it a shot, I checked my minutes for this month and I've only used 301 minutes out of the 1000 (and it ends this week), so I don't think I'll be having a problem with the 500 minutes. I'm about to place my order, thanks for the help everyone!

Quick question, if I want to order it and have it on the same account as my number right now, I would just add the number as a completely new line and use the same information for the line I have right now, correct?

I recieved my BB8830 (wow, amazing phone), but they put me on the Sprint Basic 200 Plan, I've called a number of times to a couple of different numbers, didn't seem to get any help. I dropped Customer Care an email, I remember reading there was a certain SERO customer care number I could call, is that true and if so can someone provide me with the number?

Thanks!

I was able to get switched to the SERO plan but the guy wasn't able to add either of the two BB Data plans, I'm going to call BB customer service and see if they can help. Any other ideas? Thanks
