Privacy with media uploader sites

I'd like to use an uploader like the one here at sprintusers.com or funformobile.com, but I'm concerned about my phone number. Am I going to regret putting my phone number into any of these sites?

Also, there's a list of uploaders at

and one it lists is http://www.**********.com/uploader/. There's a thread about **********.com too. What's up with that? Is that a joke, is it a site whose name must not be uttered here, or did someone actually register a bunch of asterisks as a domain name? I'm pretty sure asterisk is NOT a supported DNS character... :confused:

it' s a site you can't mention the name here. i've never had a problem using rumkin. rumkin has his source code available too, you could make your own private uploader if you wanted. you could try bitpim or qpst to upload ringers too.

you should have no problems using thoes uploaders i havent and i have been using them for over a year

and the ******s are for a site that is not endorsed here and also that is currently offline anyways
