My address is:
blah.blah@gmail.com
I set it up, it retrieved the settings and I see nothing. Any ideas?
(Oh and I do have IMAP in my gmail!)
EDIT: Deleted and tried again, worked. Anyone how to use IMAP with it?

Yeah. Go too google mail on your destop and it shows you how to set up IMAP. You can't let your phone auto set up gmail otherwise it will set it up via POP. Hope that helps.

Yeah I don't think the auto-retrieve function works. You gotta input the settings manually.
You know what I dislike about the IMAP service? I download some messages, and three days later, they're gone! What's up with that?

When you set up your account, it asks you how many days of email you want. 3 is the default setting. You can change that to all if you want. Go to your gmail account on your phone. Select menus and navigate to tools and then options. In the options menuGo to D Account settings. Click on next 5 times and there is a window that asks Automatic Send/Recieve and Download messages. Set download messages to today, 3days, 5 days, 7 days, 30 days or all. Hit next one more time and then Finish. Done!

Gmail IMAP doesn't currently work properly on WM devices....the body of incoming emails that are HTML formatted won't display on the phone. Supposedly Google is "working on it."

OK - now on the home screen it says "Email (0)" - but I don't use the outlook thingy, I use my gmail. How can I change that email link from "Email (0)" to "Gmail (1)" - etc\?

What's the difference between POP and IMAP? I know it's a stupid question, but I honestly don't know.

Bumping this for a similar question.
I am finding that my Q9 isn't retrieving my gmail even though I have it set to check it every hour. I don't have a need for push service which is why I'm set up this way. Anyone else run into this and do you know of a way to fix it?

I don't care for using IMAP for Gmail at all. I work with Gmail on the website all day long while at work, and when I get on my phone to use it with IMAP it has to go through and make all of those changes and download all the messages I got that day and actually kept. It's pretty annoying.
So...is there a way to get the Gmail app to work on the Q9c? On the Mogul it wouldn't even recognize the phone as supported when you went to the App page, but with the Q9c it says it has a Windows Mobil version now. When I click on the file link I get an "Error: The file cannot be read on this device" eror message. What gives now? I was hoping after the Mogul fiasco the Q9c would save the day for my beloved Gmail app.

Google's IMAP implementation on WM6 devices doesn't currently work properly. HTML-formatted received messages don't show up, you just get a blank email. This is a known bug that Google has allegedly been working on for several months now.

You should be able to install Jbed on your Q9c or Mogul and install the Gmail java app. Download it somehow, and open with Jbed.

I'm not sure that's entirely correct. When I download them, I can get the message and then it asks for pictures to be downloaded. So in effect I have to send/receive twice for one message.
My problem is that my Q9 isn't retrieving my mail at all. I have it set to check every hour but it's not working. Not sure why.

Pulling this thread back from the past!
Why does Gmail - via the Outlook setup on my Q - overwrite the emails I have downloaded onto the phone?
ie when I Send/Receive, new mssgs overwrite older downloaded mssgs.
Is there anyway to set up the Q or Gmail to keep all mssgs downloaded on the phone?
I have tried the Q Outlook option setting at the 3,5,7,30,all days but that still didn't work.
