Just discovered this plan and it looks like an incredible deal.
My current 2-year contract with sprint ends on Jan 7, will it be simpler for me to simply let my contract run out and sign up for SERO than to try and sign up now?
If I wait for my contract to run out can I just go through the SERO website ordering (which seems to have great success rates)? Can I still keep my current phone number that way? Any other tips for getting the SERO plan after running out of your sprint contract?
Thanks for the help!

Read the SERO threads about keeping your phone number. SERO is for new lines not existing lines (rules - but we all know the rules can be bent).
You can order new lines with SERO now and just cancel your existing lines come January.

Thanks for the reply. I did some digging for info the large SERO threads (which I guess I should've done first) and think I understand my options, which are basically these, ranked in order of ease to accomplish:
1) Sign-up for a new SERO line, cancel my old line when it goes OOC and be happy with the new plan and deal with having a new number (not ideal).
2) Sign-up for a SERO line, cancel the newly OOC line in Jan and see if I can get my old number ported to the new line.
3) Call retentions and see if they can switch me to a SERO line now on my existing number or a SERO-like matching plan (which I guess expires after a year unlike the SERO plan). This seems like it's hard to accomplish and can require a lot of time and patience.
So ideally I'd like try option #2. It looks like people have had mixed success with this route....are there any tips people that have successfully done this can offer? I guess it wouldn't exactly be the end of the world if I had to get a new number.
Second question, can I even open a new SERO line while I am still under contract with the old line or is sprint going to have problems with two contracts open under the same name? Thanks!
