I was just wondering. I would love to include a pic of what I'm talking about but I cannot right now. The title is self explanitory. Thanks in advance for any comments.

I have a pic I can post later (at work now), but I have the same problem :( I called Motorola Tech Support, and they basically referred me back to Sprint to get a replacement, OR they said they could fix my phone, but I would be w/out it for at least 10 days for repairs (screw that noise).

It only bothers me at night when I can see/notice it...it does annoy me, but I'd rather deal with it and have a phone than go through the hassle of getting a replacement and having to setup all my personalization options again (what a PITA).

Yes it is supposed to light up, take it back/get it replaced.

I saw a co workers and it has the same thing too. I'm starting to think they are ALL like this. Anybody have one WITHOUT this issue?

Can somebody PLEASE post a picture of one that IS lit up and working. So far the ones I have seen all look the same, the top part is darker. Isn't it kind of odd that some of us have the exact same LED light out? Are we SURE this isn't normal? I really don't want to take it back unless I have too. Help please.

I have the exact same issue. I thought mine was the only one. I have learned to live with it considering how awesome the device is otherwise...

Mine doesn't have the issue either. You are still within your 30 days. Go ahead and get a replacement. I would if I had the issue.

Thanks for your help everybody. I just got back from the Sprint store where they gave me ZERO hassle about exchanging it. This backlight LED works perfect on my new one and even seems brighter than the ones I have seen before. The one I got today came out of a freshly delivered UPS box @ the Sprint store. Now this could very well just be in my head, but the main screen also seems brighter, the keyboard has a better *solid press* feel to it and the D pad not only is completely lit up, but has a more confirming *click* to it. The differences between this one and the one I received the day they came out are very noticable. I can confirm nothing except that I like this one better and it seems the build quality is MUCH better. Thanks again SU:headbang2

se - exchange yours man. It's NOT supposed to look like that.

Thanks, I'll look into doing an in-store exchange (if the local store has them; they didn't last time I was there)...sure beats waiting for Sprint to ship one to me.

Are we talking about the center button of the D pad? Im not seeing a difference between se4587's pic and Blood's. I have a lit ring around the dpad, and then a lit ring around the center button.

For an engineer I think I be dense...Im not getting it.

I had a similar issue with my first Q. Look at the right side

Yeah, that is the exact problem but on an old Q. Huh. That sure is weird how that d pad LED light burns out in sections like that...On the new Q9c's I have seen at least five now with the top section burnt out on the d pad. That is really strange.:icon_smil

blackangst

wierd. Neither my old Q nor my Q9c has a red light there. My dpad along with the center button have a white lit area around it and the center button for the dpad is silver.

*shrug*

Lol, calm down....I had the same thoughts as you when I replaced my 1st q9c with the 2nd.
