Hi All,
I just got on the sero plan with a HTC mogul. I am sorry but this phone is just to had to work.
I am coming from a Verizon razr and really liked just about everything about it.... especially how I forget it is in my pants pocket (thin)
This Mogul is so big/weight (as others say.... brick) That I just hate it... plus the fact that it not "easy" to use.
The speakerphone is just the worst! not loud at all and when you turn it all the way up.... it crackles.... Plus the fact that you have to place the call... then switch it to speakerphone.
I tried the iPhone.... and all I can say is WoW
* The way it uses the web on it is just awesome!
* Very easy to use.... kinda self explanatory <sp>
There are tons of pros on the iPhone.... a allot of cons
* Cost
* Battery
* att
* and I hear that the reception is not all that great
My moto razr reception is just the best.... my phone will make and receive calls when others will not
And I guss I am just use to it.... so I think a moto q9c learning curve will be easy.

I do not have my Q9c yet... Should be tomorrow though... YAY But let me try and say a few things I've found out on the Q and researching the 9c.
1) Call quality on the Q is good... So I dont see why the 9c would be messed up
2) Speakerphone on the Q is great IMO, and I've heard the 9c is even better
3) You can "tether" your Q if you pay extra, OR... You can get PDAnet and use it that way, but thats not "recommended" because they can supposedly tell if your using the PDAnet to "tether" and your not paying for their tethering fees.
4) customize layout, you can on the Q... But it does require some knowledge of XML, plugins like Facade, etc...
5) User interface, no idea on that one...
6) Accidental buttons being pressed... Thats what the *lock keypad* function is for... Quick locking the phone is accomplished by pressing the home button and then the spacebar. Works great.
7) Web experience, I dont think your gonna get the same experience as on the iPhone, but I think overall its decent. There are some things that are problematic, Flash, java and javascript, etc... But then again, its not meant for doing all that stuff in the first place.
8) Keyboard is illuminated... On the Q, the numbers are different colored to help offset them from the rest of the keypad... But the 9c, all the buttons are the same color, but still backlit.
9) Roaming is turned on and off in the settings, I've never had a phone where you can turn roaming on and off in one or two key presses... So I would say that this phone is no different in that respect and is just as simple/complicated as any other phone I've used.
Overall, Im really liking the look, feel, and specs of the new Q9C and I would HIGHLY recommend it to anyone looking to get a Q. I know I dont have it in hand yet... But from what I've read, there is no reason not to get the Q9c over the Q... And since I love my Q (except for the lack of battery life and the frequent locking up) I would really suggest getting the 9c.

First welcome.
I am a mac user and have only had my Q9c for little over a week, but so far I'm loving it. Missing Sync from Mark/Space is a must, then you can sync all of the iApps (iPhoto, iTunes, iCal) as well as misc folders and what not. It's pretty much a Swiss Army Knife for your Mac and your Q (or any WM phone). But as someone who looked long and hard at the iPhone and uses the iPod Touch, I have to say, I still am loving my Q9c.

I'm also a Mac user. I will be ordering up the Q next Monday. I know Missing Sync is a "must", but I'm cheap/short on cash. $40.00 to me is quite a bit. Is there an easy way of just transferring photos and music without using Missing Sync?

We just got a new Q9C at work to use as a business phone. 2 days now so I'm still playing with it. This seems like a decent phone so far. I spent an hour yesterday just pushing all the buttons and exploring the applications.
The buttons are easy to differentiate, and feel solid in their clicks. The design is intuitive, straigtforward, and not much of a learning curve needed. I wish the phone keypad was more clearly demarcated with perhaps white keys.
Display is nice and sharp, images and text are clean. I didn't get any freeze ups, slowness, or any peculiar behavior at all with the operating system.
This is a heavy phone! I've been using a Touch lately and this Motorola feels twice as heavy. There is a bulge sticking out of the back so the rear is definitely not flat. The general feel and design seems well thought out. The phone has a quality feel to it, doesn't feel cheap at all. Screen is flush with the surface so no dirt accumulates in corners.
I admit to some bias as I've been unimpressed by many of the latest Motorola offerings, this model is making me reassess my opinion. I haven't made a call yet so can't comment on voice quality.
So far so good though.

Thanks all..... and thank you for the welcomes
Today I ordered the Q9C
As long as I can occasionally tether the phone to my mac iBook (it has bluetooth) I will be happy.

I've had my Q9C for a little over a week now. It is my first ppc/smartphone. I have to say, it is a great phone. Anyone that is complaining about the battery bulge is insane. The bulge is slight and makes the phone very comfortable to hold. Battery life is excellent.

my 1st data phone and I have to agree the "bulk" is nowhere near what my other phones where in the past. I am just a lil leary about the data charges w/ the plan that I have. I enjoy the phone, sound quality is great. Speaker phone quality is really good, but I am being told that I cut out some. That may have to do w/ me and not the phone. And the color scheme is awesome lol

Yes, data is included with your SERO plan, PAM however is not if that's what you mean by internet. You can also stream XM providing you have an XM account.

I don't use the phone to hook up to laptop or computer so I don't care about PAM. What about Push mail. Is there anything built in like BB where you get your email like Yahoo or MSN hotmail? I know with the touch you can.

The built in outlook will allow you to push your yahoo and gmail, ect to your Q9c. For hotmail you will need a .cab file for Microsoft Live that'll allow you to push hotmail, msn and live e-mail to your phone.
