Ok, so I just got my first cell phone the other day, and I got myself an LG Muziq. Now, there dosen't seem to be too much info floating around online about this phone (atleast, not that I can seem to find, and I have looked.. alot), so figuring out it's little tricks and such are kinda hard.
I've managed to get a grip on getting ringtones (that was a fun venture, lol), and learning about how sprint charges per kb used... and now im on to getting videos on it.
I know about the 3gp format, and I got a converter for it. I made some avi's into 3gp's, and tossed em on to the phone via mass storage.
I put em in each folder, to see which one I needed to stick em in for videos to show up, and... none of them showed up.
Now, when it came to the ringtones, I HAD to dl them from the net it seemed to get them into the phone. I'm not sure why, but putting them inside the phone myself didn't seem to work, so I had to burn cash to do it (which seems odd).
I can't even see the music file in the phone to find out it's format or where it gets put (which is driving me f*king nuts), so im not sure how it stores them or lets you acess them.
I need to know if it's the same with videos or not. If I HAVE to get them via the net. If not, then I must be missing something.
If anyone knows what I need to do to get the 3gp videos on the phone and working so I can acess them, then please let me know. Thanks!

Any music that you want to play MUST be .mp3 AND be in the MUSIC folder on the microSD card. On the Muziq, the Sprint music store is the only way to play them. As for videos, I just created a folder on the microSD card called VIDEOS and put my 3gps there. To play the videos, you have to go to tools-->memory card manager-->VIDEOS(or whatever you named the folder) and select the video you want to play and viola!
Ringtones are not stored on the microSD and you have no direct access to them. I suggest using a web uploader to send whatever ringtones you want from a pc. The focus unploader here works well but there are many available on the web. Just do a search. Hope this helps!!! :headbang2

Ahh! That would explain it.
Well, that answers everything but one question.. If I wanna re-assign a ringtone that I made/uploaded/dl'd on to my phone, would I have to re-do the whole process? or is there any special way to re-assign it?

Well, in theory, you would just go to My Content > Ringers and re-assign it from there. If you want to assign it to a specific contact, without undoing whatever else it's assigned to, you should be able to go into Contact, select the correct person, edit their contact details and assign from there.

On the Muziq, the Sprint music store is the only way to play them.Actually, if you have a memory card, you can either load the songs directly onto the card from your computer (using a card reader) or you can transfer them to the phone from a computer using the included usb->phone cable. I have a few hundred songs on the phone. I did run into a few songs that wouldn't play, but 95% would with no problem. The ones that wouldn't play, were ones that I took of some CD's a long time ago. I probably just screwed up the encoding process somehow. All the recent ones I've done have worked just fine.
A good web site to get ring tones is phonezoo.com.

mmk. few more quick questions then.
Can my phone support gifs? or any sort of animated image that isn't a movie?
Also, how would I get it to show that I have videos on the memory card when I go to album, and it shows memory card/in phone/online...whatever it is. Atm, it only shows pics in the memory card, eventhough vids are actually in there.
Like, I can see them and use them if I go through the memory card manager, but I can't even see them otherwise.
Dunno if that's normal or not

I have a similar problem but am not quite understanding the responses concerning personalized ringtones.
I transferred some songs over from my computer to my phone via the USB cable, and I've listened to the songs on my phone. Unfortunately, I can't assign any of them to a contact as a customized ringtone for that person. Any help? Thanks!

This is the current method without using one of the over the air uploaders:
