Has anybody else's Q9c started dropping calls? This has never been a problem for me before. It just started doing it a LOT yesterday, only once today so far. Could this possibley be a network issue and not a phone issue?
I guess I'll find out in the next few days. I am getting sick of having to have my Motorola phones exchanged constantly. It's annoying and time consuming. To ALL potential MOTO phone buyers add TEP to your account or you WILL be sorry.

So it stopped dropping calls entirely now. Guess it was a local network issue that day. Glad nobody responded. Makes me feel better now. I do NOT want the same luck with the Q9c that I have had with the V9m *shudders*

I have had problems with my Q9C also. I ordered mine online and when I got it the first thing I noticed was that the bluetooth was not as good as the original Q. There was more static and break up in the Q9C. Sometimes people say that they cant hear me and I have a hard time hearing them using the same bluetooth as on the original Q. There were times when the bluetooth would be connected but the sound would come out through the earpiece on the handset. I took it to the store and exchanged it yesterday and got another Q9C. On this one the bluetooth still is not great. There is static, and at times when I am on automated systems if I move a certain way it will think that I said something. Then there are times when the phone will not make a call while I have on my bluetooth headset. It will just say "dialing". I either have to make the call and not have the headset on or turn the headset off and back on again to get the phone to make a call.

Now as far as calls dropping I had one today. I was at home where I have great coverage. I noticed yesterday that my phone would have a great signal but after about 2 minutes into a call the phone would bars would drop to none. Then would go back up once I ended the call. It did that consecutively for about 4 times then I just stopped messing with it. Its strange because like the other poster I was concerned about the Q9 performance yesterday then it seemed like it fixed itself overnight. Now today I got a dropped call out of nowhere. I am thinking I there was an issue with signal with the Q9 I exchanged because I was talking on the phone without the headset and head trouble hearing and being heard. If Sprint will allow me I think I am going to just return the Q9 and reactivate the old Q. I know the it's been said that once you do an exchange your pretty much stuck with it. I hope not. The only reason I tried the Q9 was for the battery life, Sprint TV, and GPS with I didn't have with my old Q that I still love. How does it work when you have TEP? DO they really let you exchange phones with TEP or is it pending on test results? Also do you have to keep paying the deductible?

PhoneJunkie, found something out about what you said about bluetooth. I too, had some static, but VERY intermittent, on my first Q9c. Today, I returned it because my LED wasn't lighting up correctly and I noticed on this new phone that EVERYTHING about it seems to work better including the bluetooth. Static with same headset, totally GONE. There had to be some hardware change in these already (fyi -I CANNOT confirm this yet, and do NOT know this for sure and could be totally WRONG)

Here's a tip on using TEP - I have a 3rd party Sprint dealer practically walking distance from my house. I call them on the phone, tell them I need to have a defective phone exchanged (they didn't even ask why) and I have TEP on my account. They take my information, name, phone #, serial # of phone, then 3-6 days later they call me, tell me my phone is in, I take it up there and they swap it out. That simple. They don't seem to even CARE or LOOK what is wrong with my other phone. Don't know if you'll get the same expirience but if it works for you then it was a good tip eh? :hee:

I exchanged one Q9C and I am now waiting for a return kit for the other. I couldn't deal with the bluetooth and reception issues. I took the second phone to a Sprint store to get it tested and that particular store sucks BADLY. I explained the issues I had with the phone and dropped it off while I went to get a hair cut. I came back only to be told that there should be an update for my issues later this month. WTH!! I dont even think they even bother to test phones at that store. I didnt get the "phone passed the diagnostic tests" and didnt even get a ticket. Anyway I am back with the original Q where I have clear calls using my bluetooth headset and no breaking up or dropped calls. I may give the Q9C again once the updates start coming in for it and some of the bugs get fixed. I tried to copy the Sprint TV to my old Q but when it loads it says user not authorized.

Sprint retail stores are the WORST. Unfortunately you have to go in there with an attitude to get anything exchanged/returned/accomplished. They most likely made one phone call with your phone and said it works, and then gave it back to you. Sad but true. I've SEEN that happen. If you are still within 30 days they HAVE to exchange that phone for you. Accept no other option. I mean, don't be too big of an ass, just be firm. All you need is your packing slip you got with your Q9c from Sprint and as long as you exchange it for the same model that's all you need @ the retail store. If I have one more problem with mine I'm going to exchange it for a HTC Touch, even if I have to part with the nice keyboard. Sorry 'bout your luck phonejunkie
