Hi all,

I've been looking at the Q9c through Sprint and I'm just about ready to jump on it. However, I am a Mac user. Going through Moto's site, it seemed that you can just use the USB to connect to the Mac and you would be able to manually move files back and forth (photos, music etc.) and gave the pathways. However, I just was reading on another forum that they had to get a card reader to put the micro in for it to work.

Are there any Mac users with the Q9c that can shed any light on this?

Thanks.

I am a Mac user and I purchased Missing Sync for Windows Mobile. Don't regret it one bit. Can sync photos, itunes, iCal, Address Book, basically everything, with my Q9c. LOVE IT.

Yeah, I've been hearing about Missing Sync. They are still trying to work out the bugs for Leopard, though. Plus, I'd rather have a free solution. I don't use iCal, Apple's Mail app, or other things. I use Google for calendar and email. I just want to be able to transfer photos, a few songs and some docs.

Thanks for the recommendation, though. If I can't find a hack or another easy way of doing it, I'll look o Missing Sync.

My comment didn't post, so if duplicates, I apologize.

Anyway, thanks for that. I have been hearing a lot about it, but I'm looking for something easy and free. I don't have a need for "syncing" so much. I use Google for calendar and email. I just want to transfer some photos, some music and files.

Hello, I just ogt my Q9c, I have a beta version of missing sync that is supposed to work somewhat with Leopard but no matter what I do the program (as well as all the other mac->windows mobile syncing software I've tried) just will not even recognize that my phone is attached to my mac. I have it set to connect via usb as far as I know, and I can send files via bluetooth but it doesn't even see it (in Missing Sync) via bluetooth, I'm very confused.

Well, missing sync provides the driver. Does anything show up under your System Profiler in the USB section?

If you just want to transfer files to/from the phone, there are several ways to do this. (I have a Macbook running Leopard)
One way is to browse the phone via Bluetooth File Transfer program (can't remembe exact name; i'm at work on a PC :( )
The faster way is to use a card reader; I have a Mini-SD to SD card adapter I plug into my multi-card reader. Transferring files is SO fast this way. A little more work since you have to remove the card and all, so if you just want to send a couple files, I would just use BT

If you have the Bluetooth menu in the menu bar do Setup Bluetooth Device to get the pairing created, then Browse Device...
You can also Send File... but Browse lets you go both ways. Just hit OK if you get warnings that the phone doesn't like the filetype, they'll send anyway. Files show up in My Documents on the phone.
