I am a current Nextel iden subscriber but am going the the Sprint side due to a bunch of reasons i am sure you are all aware of... but anyways. walked into a retail sprint store, told them i want the touch with SERO and they told me you can only get that price plan with a NEW line (meaning i could not keep the number i have had for like 8 years). So i threw a fit, offered to walk out and go At&t and then finally a manager overheard the conversation and said SERO500? ZERO problem sir! so i walked out with a new touch at 249.99 after $100 mir, SERO plan for $30 plus i added TEP at $7, so all in all, i think i made out quite well! :headbang2

well sir, you are partially correct.. when they tried to activate
the SERO 500 plan ony my new Touch, they were getting an error
telling them that plan expired on their system one month prior... so here
is what they did for me because they could not give me the SERO plan...
haha and get a load of this...
They signed me up for the Sprint Employee plan (like if you work for them)
Which is the following: (man, i cant wait to see the 1st bill!!)
3000 Minutes (anytime- they dont distinguish between nights/weekends/peak)
Unlimited txt, pic mail, SMS
Sprint Power Vision Unlimited
Sprint Unlimited M2M
And this plan will cost me $30 plus tax, but wait here is the kicker...
the company i am employed with has a corporate discount of 26% off
Sprint/Nextel... haha suckers i will probably pay the cheapest for a plan
like this out of any member on here!
They said my bill will be around $29 and change each month out the door!
THis is like Sprint paying ME to use their phone and services!

Have you already added the discounts? I am pretty sure Sprint does not allow stackable discounts on the employee plan. And this isn't the SERO plan? I am getting confused. Could you please explain more?

Hey Ringer...! Help me out here... Do you know how many PMs I've got in my mailbox...? Would you let me know where that Sprint store is so I could send about more than 1000 people wanting the SEROs to that store? That'll be a load off my Holiday Preparations Sked... And the store manager would have a field day and an abundant Christmas. While at it, I'll tell him to throw ya a bonus...!!! How 'bout that...??? THNX in advance... :ty: LRB

Sorry sir but I call BS. Stores cannot activate SERO accounts.
Actually SERO can be activated in store, they sign you up with regular plan and then they changed it to SERO.
I did mine and i got like 20+ ppl sign up with the same Rep.
*anyone still remember me :) you guys got a heck of a deal a year ago (free phones, etc )

Okay. First, you tell us that you got SERO 500 in the store. That was the title of your post, wasn't it? If you got the employee plan, why didn't you bother to disclose that on your title or your post? Oh that's right. Someone contradicted you and you had to say something else. It's annoying enough to hear someone brag about his plan, but it's a whole lot more annoying to hear someone brag about the plan he got only in his imagination.
And dumb4ever, whoever activated the lines and switched them to SERO must have made quite a few bucks, but he's probably fired by now. If an account is changed to SERO or employee line within 3-6 months (depending on type of dealer), the dealer gets a chargeback and owes whatever it received as commission. And most dealers keep track of the average chargebacks caused by each employee. So back to the original topic, it's highly unlikely that a manager did something way out of Sprint policy just to satisfy a customer, especially when he's not making a single buck out of it.

i honestly dont know how they do it, and i dont know what's your definition of a "dealer". I activated at a Sprint Store, and yes the manager even approve the phone price match to other website, i went to the store couple weeks ago and the guy who sign me still there.
I dont know how, where you got that information but IMHO it's not right. unless your a Sprint employee/manager. But still, the fact proves you wrong. I dont want to argue...just stating a fact.

You may have gotten the store to match web prices, but the store did not activate SERO for you. How do I know this? Sprint stores dont have access to SERO accounts other than view only. Period.
Funny how you insist you did this yet every SERO thread out there proves you wrong. Not only THIS site, but have you seen the SERO thread at slickdeals? TENS of thousands of posts. Youre the first if it happened.
Which it didnt.

I don't believe this either.
call into sprint online.. take a screen shot of your plan details page.
Easily proved, if you do have the plan that is. =)

I never said the Store activated the SERO (learn how to read then comment), I SAID, they sign me up for regular plan and they switched it to SERO later that day (The store employee is the one calling sprint CS with some code)
Also i dont need to prove anything by taking screen shot or whatever to anyone (Sorry to disappoint you - I'm not 5 year old), if you dont believe it then it's up to you. Also for someone in San Francisco, if you want to do this, i could help direct you to the right direction ( all i ask is the Ref from Sprint -- which you also get ). -- and yes a lot of ppl from SD PM me and got the deal, some from SU also, dont know if they still around tho.

You, sir, need to let this rest. Per your first post IN THIS THREAD,
"Actually SERO can be activated in store, they sign you up with regular plan and then they changed it to SERO.
I did mine and i got like 20+ ppl sign up with the same Rep."
Which, of course, is BS. You never said the store activated SERO for you? Really? So whats up with your first post? The store cant do ANYTHING related to SERO.

I can also confirm that SERO is available through the store. I have gotten this for my girlfriend, brother and mom at the same store. When I got home to show them how to go online a view there account it was showing the sero plan with the old billing system. Also for my account I signed up at the store and a day later the switched it to SERO at the store in front of me NOT by calling sprint up to do it by phone.
