Things you need to do when buying a phone on eBay:

1. Always make sure you are dealing with a reputable seller, meaning someone who has done lot's of transactions (enough for you to feel comfortable with the transaction) and they have lot's of positive feedback (like 95 plus percent).

2. Make sure you buy a phone with a clean ESN (electronic serial number). This means that the ESN is not attached to a write off account and has not been reported lost or stolen. If the listing doesn't specifically state that it is a clean ESN make sure you ask the seller before you buy.

3. Make sure that the phone is in good working order, meaning that it does not have liquid damaged or any other defect that would prevent your phone from being activated.

4. Your phone must say Sprint on it for Sprint to activate it, at least for now until Sprint institutes some of the plans they are working on for mid-to late 2008.

5. Many times Sprint 3rd Party Dealers will offer very large discounts on phones (even down to free for most phones) if you activate through them. These are mostly legit, make sure that you follow the steps they ask you to (as most times you must be pre-approved to bid) and are usually for new activations only, just make sure you read the auction before you bid.

6. Many people sell info about SERO (Sprint Employee Referal Offer) make sure the auction you are buying isn't just the info about SERO (unless that's what your looking for, but you can find that info on this site) and is actually a SERO plan with phone if that is what you are intending to buy.

7. If you buy bad goods from a third party Sprint can't fix it, you must contact paypal (if you used paypal) and/or ebay to file complaints.

8. Make sure you leave accurate, helpful feedback on members so that other users know what they are getting before they buy.

9. If you have any questions about whether or not a phone can be activated on your account make sure you call Sprint in advance before purchasing the phone.

10. Finally, SprintUsers cannot due anything about eBay related issues such as fraud, accounts hacked, non-payment, etc. although we can offer advice, it is best if you read the above guidlines first.

Hopefully this has helped.

SprintUsers.com was created in January 2002 as a resource for users of Sprint PCS products and services to learn about and share information. We have cll phone reviews, Cellular Accessories, Downloads, PDA reviews, Ringtones, all of the latest Sprint PCS news and information, an area where you can find help in creating a ring tone or custom image for you phone, and so much more. The most popular section is the message board where visitors can read and write messages, ask questions, and get advice about their cellular phone from other users.
