Real quick, just want to know if this is possible? I have a current Verizon contract expiring in 2 weeks, but want to start setting up a sprint account now. Will I be able to have both active now, and then when my Verizon contract is over port that number into my Sprint account no hassle?
TIA,
Brendan

Should be fine.
The only problems I have read about are trying to transfer an existing Sprint number to SERO.

I wonder if this could be done... I have a current line non-SERO through Sprint. I plan on purchasing an additional line through SERO, but I wonder if it would be at all feasible to switch the old # to the new line and the new number to the old line. Has anyone had expreience doing that? Bascially I would be taking the SERO line while someone else is taking over my current contract until OOC.

The only ways to get it done are:
retentions......... and don't hold your breath on them doing it
port the number to a prepaid phone, or another carrier and then initiate the port back to sprint a few days after "carrier B" has custody of the number. Probably the cheapest way to do it is with a prepaid AT&T go phone as they are dirt cheap to buy (walmart, about $30) and during the transition you could just get the voice mails left on the prepaid phone or buy some airtime.
Edit: I just read your question again, and I dont think sprint would do a number swap on the existing and SERO plans. If they did, I'd believe that they would want a contract renewal on the non-sero line also.

Doing number swaps is tricky because Sprint needs a line to "park" the number on. However, being that the new line will have a new number it probably wouldn't matter if it switched.
You'd need a skilled tech to accomplish this.
Line A current number
Line B NEW number
Transfer current number to Line B
Line A then gets a totally different NEW number
Line B's NEW number is replaced with swapped current number.
It's possible

I actually had the same question as the original poster. I wanted to do the same thing, port my current verizon number to my new SERO plan. The question was answered that it IS possible. My question is, how? :music:
Thanks!

You can port any number (from another carrier) onto your plan at any time. You can even change your number.
The only time there are issues is when you have an existing Sprint number you want to swap.

But but but, how do you port the number? Who do you call to do that? Or can you do it online?

You call the carrier you are porting TO.
If you want to take your number FROM Verizon TO Sprint, you call Sprint.
If you want to take your number FROM Sprint to T-Mobile, you call T-Mobile.
They will take care of it from their end. Porting the number will cancel your service so be sure you are out of contract so you don't get hit with an ETF.

DAN-My uncle currently is on a sprint plan. He wants to be on the 49.99 SERO, they wont let him switch over because it is for new customers only! I have an att phone laying around, and he is out of contract. Will there be any problem going from his sprint phone, porting over to ATT, and call up sprint SERO department to set up the line of service?

I am on SERO right now and have been since august...my verizon didnt expire until september...what you have to do is make sure you vzw line is still active and then get sero and tell them you want to port over a vzw number (IT MUST STILL BE ACTIVE otherwise it'll be lost forever) They will do one of two things...either port your number straight over (you don't do anything they do it all) or give you a temporary sprint number until they are able to port over your vzw number in which case they port your vzw number over your temporary sprint number (thats what they did for me casue I had sprint sero for a month before I finally ported over my vzw number) So if you have any questions feel free to PM me as I went through the process of getting a temporary number for like a month and then had my vzw number ported over the Sprint number.
