I tried to search for this and had no luck i hope i'm not in the wrong for posting this here...but i was wandering if its at all possible for me to take one of my custom made ringtones and without texting or phone internet, maybe i use a memory card or something to transfer them from my comp to my phone...if it's not possible to do it with a memory card is there any other possible accessorie needed, program, driver, or any alternative way of going about this
any sort of help will be appreciated even if it's just screaming at me that there is no way and i'm stupid for asking lol
any help please:1zhelp:

Bitpim and qpst (I think) are the programs people use. I don't know if they support the rumor.

Have you tried asking Sprint CS for a free vision trial? Even paying for it for a month would make the process easier. Otherwise I don't think there is a way to do it for free.

Just for anyone that has this phone what i said works, you can trick the phone to think that your ringtone is a video and make it a rintone, i downloaded a free trial of video edit magic and super C, I downloaded a video of the song i wanted for my ringtone and also the mp3 for my ringtone, I put the video in the program then deleted the audio from the video and put the mp3 in the program and replace the adio with the mp3 then i cut it down to the part of the song i wanted for my ringtone then "made the movie" then took that movie and encoded it with super c so that it was 3g2 and then put my memory card in and put the 3g2 on the card and then made the 3g2 my ringtone
*also after testing other ways of doing this i found you can just put your mp3 in the program cut it up make the movie and then encode it with super C works the same just a black screen in the background
let me know if there are any problems with my method
you can also reach me at jdoldnumbr07 on aim
thanks for the help

I dont know about mp3's but ya can do it with a 3gp video. just download Super video converter an disable the video portion and set to 3gp AAC an adjust the bitrate to around 48 an save it to a folder in Desktop then hit encode. then just drag an drop to your phone provided that you have a USB cable to your pc to phone.

Yep, doesn't matter how you put them on the card, just that they're there, in the right place, and with the right filenames.

Filenames? Should i re-write a previous video file or what?

Well, in the past (note: people have reported this type of videoless 3GP ringer does not work on the Rumor) you've had to give the file a name just like the camera names videos taken with it. Usually a series of letters & numbers followed by the .3G2 extension.

So is there no hope with the Rumor and a MicroSD card?
