Hi,

Just bought my first Ebay phone, Sprint network PPC 6700. This is probably a ridiculous question from a complete rookie...This is my first WM5 phone and the first time I bought a phone requiring ESN transfer/activation from Ebay. I found the ESN number, but haven't called Sprint yet. I plugged the phone in to charge. After doing so, I see the Sprint screen appear, followed by the Windows Mobile screen. Then, the phone goes black. This process keeps repeating.

Is this because:

1. Battery just needs to charge more
2. It will do this until the phone is activated with Sprint
3. There's something wrong with this WM5
4. There's somethign wrong with the phone's power supply
5. Other?

Just confused and worried about getting scammed on Ebay. The auction stated that phone was Sprint (my carrier), ESN was clean, and phone was unlocked. Seller's feedback was very solid.

Please help with guidance!
B.H.

1.Well, if the battery is completely dead, and you're trying to power it on while charging, it won't power on until it has enough juice in the battery to do do.
2. The phone does not need to be activated with Sprint in order to power on.
3. The only way to answer this question is to charge the phone enough to power on and see what happens.
4. It is possible that there might be a problem with either the charger, or the charger port. If you have another mini usb charger you can try, do so. If not, you may have to take it to a service center to get it looked at.
5. It's always possible that there could be something wrong other than what was listed here, but it's hard to tell without actually looking at the phone itself. If you try charging, and it still won't power on, have a service center look at it, and they can probably tell you what's up with it.

Hope that helps at least a little.

Let it charge for 12 hours and still nothing. Went to Sprint Store and swapped out batteries with a new battery. With the new battery, it's working fine. So, it was either the old battery or the charger. Thanks for insights!
