View Full Version : Phone upgrade rebates on SERO plans

Until recently in order to get the "upgrade rebate" on a new phone after 22 months of service, ANY plan, including SERO plans, had to be over $34.99/month before extras to qualify.

The internal Sprint sales site carried THIS notice the other day:

Effective, Friday, November 23rd, SERO customers with a $29.99 or higher rate plan will be eligible for handset upgrades in retail. Previously, SERO customers had to be on a $34.99 or higher rate plan to be eligible to receive discounts on handset upgrades. Provisioning for these customers should follow standard procedures as outlined in the Upgrade M&Ps. All other customers are NOT impacted by this change and must still adhere to the $34.99 or higher price plan requirement to be eligible to participate in the New For You Handset Upgrade (NFYUP) program.

Thats good to know. I have the $30/month sero plan and was told when I got it this past august that I would still be eligible for the full upgrade with my current plan according to the monthly breakdown, i.e. 18-20,21-22 or however they pro rate the months. But I was still a little leery on believing them as a lot of times from I've read they say one thing and do something else, so this will put my mind at ease. Thanks!

I have upgraded 2 phones on the SERO 500 plan prior to the 11/25/2007change in qualifications. The trick was to call in rather than upgrade in the store. By calling in, they waived shipping, activation fee($18), and matched the online offers being made to new customers. Also, I received the phone the next day.
