Until recently in order to get the "upgrade rebate" on a new phone after 22 months of service, ANY plan, including SERO plans, had to be over $34.99/month before extras to qualify.
The internal Sprint sales site carried THIS notice the other day:
Effective, Friday, November 23rd, SERO customers with a $29.99 or higher rate plan will be eligible for handset upgrades in retail. Previously, SERO customers had to be on a $34.99 or higher rate plan to be eligible to receive discounts on handset upgrades. Provisioning for these customers should follow standard procedures as outlined in the Upgrade M&Ps. All other customers are NOT impacted by this change and must still adhere to the $34.99 or higher price plan requirement to be eligible to participate in the New For You Handset Upgrade (NFYUP) program.
