My contract w/ Sprint expired earlier this month. I noticed the new Motorola Q9c on SERO and would like to sign up for it. I saw that SERO has an option to allow you to port your number over.
My concern is that when reading about SERO, they will not allow existing customers to transfer lines over. They will only be able to open a second line if they wish. Since I am out of contract is this possible? I need to keep my phone number for business purposes.
Thanks
BTW, do I get to keep my corporate and loyalty discount when/if I sign on to SERO for 2 more yrs?

You could port out of Sprint and to a pre-paid wireless service temporarily, and then sign up with SERO and port your number over to Sprint again.
As for discounts, almost everything is possible. I have a corporate discount on my SERO, but SERO should not get any additional discounts since it's discounted enough already. But *almost* everything is possible. Just gotta call and ask. Don't hold your breath though.

You didn't read enough, DAhlink... Read some more and you'd see that the last few weeks, a lot of us here
1.) Got our SEROs successfully and almost painlessly
2.) Kept our loyalties (Corporate/Bus/Work-related: being phased out once
account is migrated to new billing system)
3.) Ported our old number from OOC lines to our SERO lines, maintaining
same account without going through the pre-paid route, trouble &
expense.
All you have to do is go back a couple more weeks' worth of reading and you'd be fine... :hee: LRB

I'd definitely be interested in doing this. Any pointers to where those messages would be? Have been looking through but haven't found them yet.
Thanks.

Same here, but I guess I'll just try to call them after I get my SERO account and phone to attempt corporate discount.

So here's an update so far:
11/24: I called the number listed on the SERO page and asked to renew my contract for 2 more yrs with the SERO 1250 plan. The rep. politely said no, he said it was not possible. The most he could do was add me a SERO line but could not switch me over.
11/25: I called retentions and told the rep. that I was out of contract and would like to renew for 2 more yrs on the SERO 1250 plan but was having difficulty transferring. She said no problem, renewed me for 2 more yrs on the SERO 1250 plan. Since I was in the middle of my pay period she credited me $20. She also added on $50 for an invoice credit, without me even asking for it. I was also eligible for a new handset, so got the new Moto Q9c. I'm going to call back tomorrow and get a tracking number for my new phone.
Overall, I think people are making to much out of this process. It just took me one call to retentions and 10 minutes later I was able to get on with my life. :)

Leakman, of all people, don't you know the difference of what you've got compared to RETENTIONS' "MATCHED SEROS"....? :hee:
Hope all's well with you....!!!

Hawaii and San Francisco. What I thought I typed was that I called *2 but I believe that THEY (whoever "they" are) xfered me over to retentions. Anyway,I got what I needed and am happy! Forgive me as I know not what I have typed.

Can anyone suggest a cheap pre-paid wireless service? Where is a good place to buy one of these phones?
