I bought three screen protectors for my Centro and they were .99. I didnt check the shipping because I didnt think it could be that much. so i payed the bill...didnt even look at the amount. i get the ENVELOPE...they came in an ENVELOPE! I look at the invoice. 5.99 for shipping. They came in an envelope and it cost 5.99. I was thinking of returning them, but when I read the return policy. I dont get my shipping back and there is a 25% restocking fee. so i would get .75, but after I would of had to put a stamp on it and send it back. I would get about .34 back. 34 CENTS!!!! DONT DEAL WITH HIM!!!

For your own sake, don't buy stuff online.

You should always read the entire auction description as well as be aware of the shipping charges. Inflating shipping & handling fees is a known tactic for sellers to sheild their profits from eBay's fees.
Also, assuming the screen protectors are decent, $7 doesn't sound like a bad price for three of them.

You did not read what you had to pay for something. How are they ripping you off again?

Would you ever charge someone 5.99 shipping for something that you send in an envelope?

1.) It cost money to use eBay (listing fees)
2.) It cost money to recieve a paypal payment (3%)
3.) The sellers time
4.) Going to the post office, to mail the item (gas money)
Many things to factor in
Why would some sell something for .99 and only charge .4x to ship....
that would basically be giving something away

it costs .99 sents to list and about 30 seconds to list it, NOT TO MENTION THE MAIL CARRIER PICKS IT UP FROM YOUR RESIDENTS

Obviously you aren't going to be reasoned with, OP. It is up to each adult, as a reasonable, responsible adult, to fully understand what you are agreeing to when you purchase something. If you think a shipping fee is unreasonable, you don't purchase from them. Simple as that.
Is it crazy to charge $6.00 for shipping? Sure! Do you HAVE to deal with them? Nope!

Like others have said, anyone who knows anything about eBay knows to check shipping charges. Many things, especially accessories, are sold for extremely low list prices, but the shipping charges recoup any loss in the costs of doing business (plus a profit, of course).
I believe it's a tactic used to get more hits on their sale page, even though the shipping charges ARE listed on the search listing page as well as at the top of every bid page. If you somehow ignore these charges, even though they're displayed prominently throughout the site, you should probably not use eBay or make an effort to change your online shopping habits.

Yes ebay sellers are known for the 99 cent items vs the 4.99 shipping..nothing new - right or wrong it is there
Lets be respectful even when our opinions differ.

Rule of thumb: if it looks too good to be true, it probably is. Although ebay has some great bargains, more often it has reasonable but not amazing prices. This is a case in point. I understand why you're upset: you thought you got a great deal, and you were surprised to learn otherwise. I agree that it is a little bit sneaky of sellers to list things this way (it allows them to offer unconditional returns without losing any money, since shipping isn't refundable). But in the end, you paid a fair price, and learned a valuable lesson for under ten bucks. If this is the most expensive mistake you make this year, you'll still be way ahead of me. I recently learned exactly how many feet you must park from a fire hydrant in New York City, and that lesson cost me $115! (It's 15 feet, by the way.)

It's well known that if something on EBAY costs $0.99 to $2.00 then shipping is going to be a bit more...DUH!!!
And no the mailman, does not pick stuff up from my house, it's picked up from the Mailbox on the street.
Of course people on ebay have to make some type of return to pay for the listing. Jacking up the shipping is one legit way.

as its been said EVEN if you mailit from your house. costs $1 to list, and then paypal takes a few % too. so you paid 6.99 total. figure he lost $1.50 or so right there just listing it and taking your money. So he made a whopping $5.50 and then had to pay for the stamp and envelope so figure $.50 (stamps are more like over $.40 these days). So $5, big deal.
YOU should have read teh auction more closely its totally your bad here. Its VERY common thing on ebay. entice with a $.99 item and charge $6 shipping. Remember sometimes the item costs more than $.99, they just recoup the money in the inflated shipping. (instead of selling it for $5 plus $2 shipping, they charged $1 plus $6 shipping, same thing to them really)
Standard selling practice on ebay. Tons of listings with no reserves and "buy it now's" that have items dirt cheap but after shipping is included they are average priced. Check out all the 99 cent car chargers you can buy on ebay, with $5-8 in shipping and they are junk you could buy at a mall wireless accessory stand for $4.
Actually, a mall accessory stand is often times a good place to buy low quality things for a phone, be it a case, screen protector, charger, or to have your phones faceplate changed. Perhaps that would be a better option for the OP in the future :)

I guess the lesson here is read the entire post before you buy something. Its all fair if its there in letter.

I'll say it again;
Always, always read the entire auction listing. If there's anything you don't agree with, don't bid or buy.

My brother once bought several, beautiful clocks off ebay for about $10 apeice. After he won he noticed they were coming from Hong Kong and the shipping was $250 or better for each one. He didn't want to lose his feedback rating and the auction was legit due to the weight and distance of shipping so he paid for the clocks and gave them back to the seller as a gift since there was no way he could pay for the shipping on about a dozen clocks. Always, Always, Always read the entire auction listing!

^^^ you know there's a bid retactor form right? If the auction hasn't ended already, you can get your bid retracted

The bid retraction only works if it is more then 14 hours from auction end so make sure of that first.

this is a stupid posting by someone who did not read what they were buying, nobody got ripped off because the shipping price was listed they just didn't bother looking. if u ever look at ebay u would know that the shipping is usually more than the item u are buying if it is that cheap.
