This is my first time posting on this forum but I am a frequent contributor on other PDA forums. I am writing this in hopes that others will not get ripped off. Mods, if please make as a sticky or alter as needed. Or in the alternative, if you feel I am out of line, please let me know.

For those of you who are considering purchasing a Boxwave Flex case or Active Case, you may want to reconsider. The case they are giving you are intended for a GSM Touch which is different from a CDMA Touch. Furthermore, they will not refund you the shipping fee if you decide to return a product that clearly is not intended for our phone.

Look on their web page, Their Sprint Touch case pictures show the mirror at the 12 o'clock position and the speaker close to the edge of the phone. Our Touch has the mirror positioned at the 10:30 position and the speaker more inboard. Plus most review sites have stated that the CDMA Touch is a tad bigger than the GSM version. The flex case will stretch but the holes are in the wrong places and the Boxwave logo is crooked. The hard case will not fit as the camera and mirror requires a recess in the back piece and due to the fact they are positioned different, it simply will not work.

Here are the correspondences between myself and Boxwave. Some others are experiencing the same thing I am on PDAPHONEHOME so please don't let this happen to you too.

FROM ME -->

To Whom it may concern:

I ordered a Sprint Touch skin case on Thursday 11/8. When I received the case, I notice it was not the correct fit. It appears your Sprint Touch case is intended for the GSM Touch which is a little different from the Sprint Touch. The camera placement and rear speaker are some of the differences. Because the case did not fit my phone perfectly, I decided to order the Active Case for a SPRINT Touch.

When I ordered the Sprint Touch Active Case I requested Expedited overnight shipping because I needed a case. As I have said, the rubber case could fit but it did not offer proper protection.

When I received the case, it again was for a GSM Touch. This case will not fit as it is hard plastic.

I don’t mind keeping the rubber case, however, the hard case is useless to me. Please issue a RMA and refund in the amount of $54.45.

Again, the Sprint Touch is different from the GSM Touch.

Thank you for your prompt attention to this matter.

Richard

Im sorry to hear you are having trouble. I do not work for Boxwave nor do I represent them, however I must stand behind them and say they do not intentionally dishonor customers in any way. Im sure your situation will be resolved to the best of your liking. I have numerous cases from Boxwave and the most recent was a case from my 8130, which when I received it fits the 8100, not the 8130. My situation is being dealt with accordingly, and Im sure yours will too.

If you are still having trouble feel free to contact me as I have many contacts at Boxwave that Im sure would rather resolve your sitation than let it go sour.

You can see all of my Boxwave reviews on pinstack.com.

I understand your reluctance to believe they may do wrong. In the past, I have purchased many cases and screen protectors from them too but that doesn't mean a thing when it comes to my current transaction with them. I refuse to give them a pass simply because they gave me what I paid for on previous occasions.

The BOTTOM line is this:

I informed them the CDMA Touch is different from the GSM Touch and instead of really looking at the phones, they simply waited a few days and said they are the same.

Look at their Touch pictures and Look at the one from Sprint. The camera mirror and speaker are clearly in different locations. That in itself (pictures) should tell them the cases won't work as they have cutouts to fit. How can they claim they researched my claims? Did they even look at the Sprint phone?

Here are some pictures. Take a look and you'll understand. Notice, the Boxwave logo isn't even straight and the screen cutout slightly blocks the softkeys. And most importantly, none of the cutouts on the back are right!

BTW> Just for kicks, I tried to fit the hard case... it will not fit. Instead, it took the rubber coating off of the small nub on the battery door. That's my reward for giving them the benefit of the doubt. :irked: The Sprint Touch is, as many reviewers have stated, slightly bigger than the GSM Touch.

I've never taken so much time to post on any one subject but I am so upset at this whole situation because it is so obviously clear the two Touches are different. Instead of giving me a refund on the cases and shipping, they are making an absurd claim they looked into it and after careful examination, the phones are the same. I didn't asking for anything above and beyond what I paid. I just wanted my money back.

They've lost a long time customer. If you want keep giving them your money, that your decision and I respect it. However, as stated in my original post, my intention was to make sure those who are considering ordering a Sprint Touch case from Boxwave, really look into whether they will in fact get a Sprint Touch case.

Thank you for allowing me to express my feeling and responding.

Richard
