as title says i need to know cause i called to return my phone (3 days old) cause i wanted to give the touch a try just to make sure my 755p is what i will want for the next 2 years. the guy on the phone sent me the mailing label through email. i asked him when will i get the money back cause i needed it to buy the new phone. he just simply said 'you can order the phone now" so i ssumed he went and credited me the refund. but i checked my accounts and theres no refund anywhere. what is the real policy?? cause he just didnt know what he was doing i think.
and why did my other thread just like this one get deleted?? ive been noticing my posts/threads have been disappearing lately?? i dont understand

Well, the way they usually work it is this. They will charge the new phone to your account, and send it out with a return label for the other phone. You send that phone back to them, and it sits in the warehouse until someone gets around to inspecting it(To make sure everything is with it, and there is no damage) They get backed up most of the time, so it can take weeks before this happens. I've seen it take upwards of 2 to 3 months before someone sees a credit for a returned phone. Just remember, just because it says that they received it, doesn't mean that they've processed it. You might be waiting a while.

I just did this and what they did in my case was credit me back the full amount I paid on my credit card to my Sprint account, then charged me for the new phone. They won't put the money back on your credit card.

Regardless on how you get your money back, you don't get it until they have received and processed your return. Therefore, it will be a while before you see any of your money back in any form. I was lucky to have the money credited back within one billing cycle. Some people waited and had to haunt Sprint for 2 to 3 months. YMMV.

^^yea i just called in and found that out. a "30 day return policy" and they say it takes 1-2 months to get your money back, what a lie

Actually, it's not a lie. The return policy states "you have 30 days to return your phone" It does not state how long they have to credit you back the money. You have to see it from their side. If they just credited peoples account on their word that they sent the phone back, it could end up causing a lot of problems if they then check the box and either something is missing, or there's no phone at all.....it's just easier for them that way.

i understand it but i wouldnt be as mad if they guy who did it the 1st time told me "you can order the phone now" when i asked him how long before you refund so i can use that money to buy a new phone. he didnt really answer my question and really misled me. its hard when calling sprint to get a good rep, but i do appreciate it when i do and he was definitely not one fo them

yeah, I can see your frustration then. If you were misled, that's not cool.

If you had purchased the phone at a Sprint Corporate Store, it would be as easy as bringing the phone back and get another one. I tried exchanging for a better phone and all they did was charged me the delta on my credit card.

if your not happy with what happen. I would call customer service ask for a manger and tell them what you where told and they should take care of you if not happy. State your going with a other service provider. They will work worth with you for sure
