I think that we have been losing a lot of respect lately. I am a Michigan fan, and we are now 12th after losing our first 2 (in embarrasing ways).

Ohio State is number 1, but no noe will respect them until they beat an SEC team (I personally support Big Ten teams unless their victory jeapordizes Michigan's season).

No one else is ranked. However, I think Illinois could beat UConn or S. Florida easily.

After last year's bowl fiasco with the Big Ten going 2-5, I believe this year could be a turnaround one. Unless Michigan plays Oregon in the Rose Bowl. That would be a blowout with UofM losing.
Oregon should be #1.

Any opinions?

you are overlooking the team sitting 21st in the BCS rankings, and 19th in the USA Today poll...one of the 2 teams that didnt choke in their bowl game last year. They are also facing Ohio State this weekend, and Michigan next weekend

I think this year is fun because there is no dominating team...any given saturday

good luck to your wolverines coming into camp randall in 2 weeks...dont act like that one will be a gimmie...when they lost here 2 years ago some of your whiny fans complained and wrote editorials to the newspapers around here, therefore a strong hatred of michigan and said fans have been engrained in my DNA. By the way, ann arbor is an female who is easy to get into bed

Hail to those mother *******
Hail those **** suckers
Hail Hail to Michigan
The cesspool of the world!!

Wisconsin is good. The game against them won't be a gimme, I'm sure.

Wisconsin
"On Wisconsin"

On Wisconsin, On Wisconsin, plunge right through that line.
Run the ball clear down the field, a touchdown sure this time.
On Wisconsin, On Wisconsin, fight on for her fame.
Fight, fellows, fight, fight, fight, we'll win this game.

On Wisconsin, On Wisconsin, stand up Badgers sing.
"Forward" is our driving spirit, loyal voices ring.
On Wisconsin, On Wisconsin, raise her glowing flame.
Stand, fellows, let us now salute her name.

On Wisconsin, On Wisconsin, plunge right through that line
Run the ball clear down the field boys, touchdown sure this time
U-Rah-Rah
On Wisconsin, On Wisconsin, Fight on for her fame
Fight, Badgers, fight, fight, fight, we'll win this game.

As a Wisconsin fan I'd hope to lose for fear of hearing this!

I'm just really surprised how well the Buckeyes are playing this year considering they lost 13 players to the NFL. This year Ohio States defense is better then last year and there offense looks pretty dam good. I don't even want to even think about last year but Arkansas wasn't as good as a Florida or USC (last year).

hmm...you obviously missed the first 3 quarters of that game

horrible play calling (fake a punt on your own thirty?), and the inability to stop the run (those last 21 points looked like it was the exact same play)

Yea that fake punt on there own thirty I think only down by 7 was a bad call/decision especially when they already faked a punt before. Both teams had a nice catch in the end zone. Badgers could'nt stop Beanie (169yrds rushing). :)

fool me once, shame on you
fool me twice, shame on me
fool me a third time...well that's just embarassing

well, the original point of the thread was stating how there were 2 legitimite teams in the big 10 (michigan and ohio state) and through the first three quarters, it looked like there were three....i will not hesitate to say the buckeyes looked like a much better team than the badgers at the end of that game, congrats on the win, my hat is off to ya'll

7 days until we see badgers/wolverines...in camp randall :D

Cheatachu now I know how you feel but worse. Ohio State let Illinois QB run right up the middle numerous times.

Forgot to say this but it's to bad Tressel and or the booth didn't reply Illinois long run on there first possession that led to a td because it was a fumble that Ohio State recovered in the end zone. Not making excuses for the loss but who knows what would've happened if they made the right call.

I'm a little shocked that Ohio State is still #1 in the AP poll that was released 10 minutes ago, and they are receiving 60 first place votes too. :/

I figured they would drop in the rankings consdering they got beat at home by an unranked team.

you looking at the right poll?

the AP poll at espn.com has them at #7

illinois leapfrogged Michigan (23) and Wisconsin (24) to be sitting at number 20

Tressel said that they don't have any T.V.'s in there press box. :thought: I can't beleave they don't and I think they will from now on. I thought the booth is suposed to reply everything that is questionable. Oh well Ohio State already has done better then what I expected this year.

Yeah. The media wants to call this loss an upset, but to be honest, I'm surprised we stayed at #1 that long to begin with, and I wasn't really all that heartbroken when we lost. I say, better to lose now to a decent spread offense than get run over in the NC against a great spread offense.

With both UM and tOSU losing this weekend, I expect a little more heart in both teams next week. They just seemed to bend over this weekend.

And in the off-season, I hope the coaching staff actually takes notice to how dangerous the spread offense is and build around defending against it.

It's not like it was something that couldn't be reviewed; the ball clearly came out like 2 yards before the end zone.

THE GAME!
This is the first time that I'm going to an Ohio State vs Michigan game. Hopefully it's a good one.

Off topic (to the Big Ten), but does anyone think it's unfair that Hawaii is still 16th? They haven't beaten anyone who's that good but still... and Boise State is only 2 places behind Hawaii even though they have a loss.
