Ok here it is. I now have both phones and have been using the 8100 for the last 2 days. Here are the real unbiased pros and cons me and my friends came up with.
Pros of the 5300
1. made in Japan vs Malaysia for 8100
2. beter camera
3. Same image on both screens looks better on 5300 probably because the dot pitch is smaller
4. Although the menu system isn't that great it does have more eye candy pics etc.
5. bigger screen
6. extra battery
Pros of 8100
1. Smaller
2. brighter internal lcd
3. louder ear piece then even 5300 with 1.035
4. newer
5. faster camera but probably due to lower image quality.
As far as ringtones I have downloaded the same ones to both phones and cannot really tell a difference. Now I have to decide which phone to keep. This is going to be a hard decision. I can return the 8100 or ebay the 5300 for about $200 I hope.
