I am on my 2nd DLX. I returned the 1st. one due to reception problems in my basement. after playing with the 2nd DLX and not getting any signal in my basement for 2 hours i finally got that extra 1-2dB i needed. The Solution was a simple one and found out by accident. I Placed My Thumb And Index Fingers Over The SD And Charger Ports. This Is An Approximate Placement Of My Fingers. The Point Is That They Have To Be Well Away From The Internal Antenna. The Instructions On The Sticker Show You To Not Hold The Phone On The Internal Antenna. In Good Signal Strength Areas You Can Hold The Phone Pretty Casually Near The Internal Antenna But In Fringe Areas It Seems Very Important Not To Hold The Phone Anywhere Near The IA. This Made A Difference For Me And I Hope This Advice Can Help Someone Else Out That Is In A Similar Situation As I Am.

I too found this out when I had the 8500, as some of the areas in my house have very bad signal issues so that 1,2 or 3 Db difference is the difference between a dropped call or a call that is held onto for me. So, my man...you gonna keep the 8500 now?
