Hi!

I just got a M1 off Ebay for my hubby. It was in mint condition. It is one great phone. The only thing I dislike about it is that you get many fingerprints on it. So hey, it is one great phone if that is all we can complain about. The camera is great compared to our 3100 phones.

I have been considering the Katana DLX (Pink) for myself. :o I held it in the store and it seems like a solid phone. The features are nice too.

The phone I have now is a Sanyo 3100. The ringer is the worst! I purchased a few ringtones and what a waste of money! It sounds like crap. So what I really want in a phone is the ability to download my own music as ringtones and sound good!

How does the DLX compare to the M1 in terms of sound? I am happy with the sound the M1 my hubby has. Is it similar?

Also, does the DLX have good reception compared to the 3100?

My last question is about the battery. If I use my 3100 for more then ten minutes, the battery is so HOT!

I really want to upgrade my phone so any advice is appreciated.

I've got the Katana DLX. Love this little phone. You can get free MP3 ringtones (from your computer) on it, but you need a little work around and have at least the basic Power Vision add on or it gets really expensive.

The camera is a VGA camera, but it takes great pics. Downside is that there's no flash capability for the camera.

I also have great reception with the phone.

its a good all-around phone, the DLX. i'd recommend it!

OK..don't think I am crazy, but I was in the store today and I looked at the DLX. I actually liked the Samsung M510 better. To me, the DLX did not look much different then my 3100. The screen was the same size. I know it has better functions, but I am leaning toward the Samsung now, in pink of course.

Any opinions on the M510?

I have an M1 - and in my opinion it's a great phone - a bit on the cheapo-plasticy side, but it's not a burden for me to deal with.

Although, I do have a MAJOR gripe with the DLX. The major selling point to me for the original Katana was the huge display. Now, with the DLX, it's a much smaller display, but more capable.

If the DLX had a 2.0 MP camera (ala the M1), the display of the original Katana and the features of the M1/DLX (power vision, flash on your camcorder, decent on-phone storage OR 4GB micro-SD compatible) it would be a great phone... But, to anyone, the DLX should be sufficient... And probably cheaper than the M1.

But the M1 is a damn awesome phone.
