I am wondering is this the M1 replacement, or that ugly orange entry level phone that we saw leaked pics of earlier on SU? Also, other Sprint (rumored releases @ link above)

the latter. scp-2500 means low end...even though it shares a type of naming convention with the m1 i guess.

i thought it was only orange because the color settings were off on the camera taking the leaked pictures...and they were actually red
ps. does that mean those leaked pictures could be posted again if somebody found them in their cache from the original thread.... or is it a once a tainted picture always a tainted picture sort of scenario? Did the level of taint lower?
pps. please dont PM me about sending you pictures that are not on my computer...i dont have them

I notice that Sanyo seems to have no high end phone for Sprint in the near future. I would love a more slimlined and improved M1. I'd be all over that. Bummer. :icon_smil

Sometimes SILENCE speaks VOLUMES. if we are not hearing anything about any Sanyo high end phones in the near future it could just be right around the corner! i think the DLX didnt have a big announcement either before it was released and they are selling in large quantities. i get a feeling we will be surprised again. the Pro Series perhaps?

Deval, you have given me hope. I think it was the Sanyo PRO 800 or maybe the 900 I saw that looked REALLY nice. I hope you are all on to something here. I was really starting to think Sanyo was calling it a day for manufacturing high end cdma phones. Way too many rumors floating around about them getting outta the cellie business and where there is smoke there is usually fire. And sorry, I wouldn't buy a SHARP M2 or whatever if my life depended on it. No thank you. Nokia, sure, I'd inquire and @ least be interested. I see LG, Motorola, Samsung, and various smart phones as the future brands for Sprint. I don't have a clue, just a guess. We'll see how it pans out.

The phones are real and they were just officially added to the roadmap. I have included a link from the phonenews.com forum where a Sprint employee in KS confirms their existence as well gives a target launch of Q1 2008. The poster has seen concept models and from what he describes the phones are amazing. Definitely something to look forward to. ;)

Those are some insane specs for the Pro 900. It just seems too good to be true. Awful big jump in tech. for Sanyo. I would have to see it to believe it. I just wonder what's coming out in Quarter 4. What I've heard so far sounds, well, boring IMO.

Deval, the rumors are starting to zing around on the pro series being real. I'll admit, I was VERY leery @ first, but it seems like there's smoke here now. I just want to see the Pro 900 specs. I want a phone I'll keep and LIKE @ least a year. That's all I ask for. I'm growing weary of my V9m already. *sigh* Looks like I was one of the first suckers... - V9m - styling and rather blah looking colourless large outter lcd, nothing more. Last time I fall for that Motorola trick...last time.

My RAZR was also the last time I fall for the Motorola trick. I miss having a phone that works. The RAZR reminds me of Windows...

YEAHH Duval this one research technician that works for sprint I network with out in FLorida told me that the Pro900 will be the pinical of messaging phones. This phone could be the one that will save sanyo's career .... oR break it....... he said they are debating on the 3mp camera .... PLEASE STAY PLEASE!! LOL IF I hear more I will tell you guys

I wouldn't hold my breath...the problem is...specs always change. Features can get removed or added at any time. It's honestly too soon to tell

I'm trying to remember.... it was a Samsung model which was seriously neutered upon release... which one was that? Then there was that other one that went through testing and was never released.
What Deval's saying is correct though. I like to say this: It ain't official until it's official.

FCC Reveals Sanyo Bar Phone
Today, 8:24 PM source: FCC
The FCC today approved the Sanyo S1, the company's return to bar phone for Sprint. Like Sanyo's original bar phones, the S1 is thin - 11.1mm - however that's not uncommon for current handsets. The S1 is an entry level phone with Bluetooth, no camera is even visible in the initial documents. Sprint previewed this phone at an event last month with indications it is due out before the holidays.

Gotta say, I'm not diggin the extra housing and small display. Not bad though for an entry phone.
