Can anyone tell me if there is a software for the sprint ppc 6700. That would allow me to send pictures and videos through text messages instead of having to log on to my email. It get real annoying trying to send pictures and videos to family and friends only if they have an email address.

Check out this thread (http://www.ppcgeeks.com/real-picture-mail-for-the-sprint-mogul-ppc-6800-t5765.html) from PPCGeeks. You can install Verizon's 6700's MMS app which works just fine on the Sprint Treo 700wx, 6700, and 6800.

You know, I haven't tried to send videos since I got the Mogul but I just tried and you're right. Oh well, I guess pics will have to do.

I somehow received a picture mail the other day on my 6700. It wasn't addressed to me (I didn't recognize the number and can't fathom why anyone I know would send me a picture of a large black family), but it was strange because I don't have the pic mail app installed.

You can receive Picture Mail without anything installed. All Sprint's Picture Mail is is an SMS with a link to the picture. So there's no reason it wouldn't work even if there's no PM app. However sending requires the device to upload the picture and then send the message with the link embedded. So you'll need the ripped app to send but not receive.

If you have Windows mobile 5 and are running aku 3+ picture mails don't show up correctly, it's something that's on sprint's end I guess, but so far no changes.
