I called them to try to get a deal on my 20$ text+vision. Told them that tmobile SK has free inet and chat and wanted to switch over to tmobile. Pretty sure it was customer retention since i called a retention # n there was no background noise, although the 15 min wait time made me doubt wether they really were retention. Anyway they reconized i've been with them for 4 years and I told them id rather cancel and save 20$ a month with tmobile rather than stay with with them and all he could offer me was a 70$ credit to stay. After i told him no he said he tried to help and the only thing he could to was transfer me to the dept that would handle cancelation. He said this was the only time to ask any other questions because the other dept would not be able to assist me with those as they deal with cancelling only.
This scared me because from what i've read they should be pretty crazy on trying to keep you and this guy was only offering a one time 70$ credit. I told him to call back in 2 hours as my wife would have some additional questions before i got too sure of myself and ended up accidentally canceling when i had no intention of canceling either way lol.
any advice? he said he'd call back and take a look at my plan some more. What should i say to try to get a deal he was so willing to cancel =/

You can call the cancellations dept. without fear. Even if they don't give you what you want and offer only to cancel, you can simply tell them you are going to sign up with another carrier first and port your number.

I would try ecare first.
The cancellation department will sometimes cancel you outright without offering anything to keep you.

go to tmobile and learn the hard way that we take power vision and its speed for granted. tmob has sk3 for 20 unlimited text and data. sprint has it for 25.

wait i dont get it...how am i trying to beat the unbeatable if sprint's so willing to give so many discounts? i've never even asked the for a discount the 4.5 years i been wit them. and i kno tmobile sucks, i dont want tmobile, i said this already. the only reason i mentioned tmobile to him was to have a valid argument by showing him i had already planned a different company. i read all this **** about people lowering their bills like crazy since it costs sprint more to lose some1 than give them a discount, i dont understand why i shouldnt try. any1 can say to themselves wow its worth it, thats no reason to NOT try for a discount if its possible and as easy as people say it is. but whatever. the hold time annoyed me more than the acual 15 so im done with it for now.
