Hi,
I think this is the right forum for this question. About a month ago a I got a ppc-6700. I have no problem connecting to the 1x network, however EvDO seems not to work. I have contacted E-care and they have confirmed that my account is provisioned for EvDO. I am in an area that is not supposed to have EvDO according to the coverage map for the summer(pittsfield, MA), however it still shows EvDO available icon when I try and connect. Sometimes, when I am connected it switches to EvDO all data stops, my service shows zero bars, and then it flips back to 1x and starts working again. At first, I assumed this was a problem with the indicator. So my first question is, would it possible the indicator is wrong, or is it more likely sprint has just not updated there coverage maps?
Second, I have been going into Albany, NY for the weekends where I should definetly be getting EvDO, but the same thing happens when I try and connect. I start with four bars when I try and connect. It starts connecting, it takes a minute, then service shows zero bars, and then flips back to 1x with 4 bars. I have tried and IOTA update and a hard reset. Is it possible I need to program something in my phone? Is it possible for the EvDO radio not work while the 1x one is working? Does anyone have any idea what might cause this?
