Hey All,

Was looking for your input regarding what options I could reasonably obtain given my current situation. Have been with Sprint since 2003. Currently have 3 lines looking to add a 4th. I have a Fair and Flexible plan ($70 for 700 AT Mins + $5 for every add'l 100 AT Mins + 9PM N/W + 20% Corporate Discount + $10 per add-a-line)
The main line and one of the add-a-lines are out of contract and the main line is also up for an upgrade for the 2-yr program. I am interested in obtaining the new 8830 via the new line activation and then swapping that phone with my current phone (so as to reap the new line benefits) Can this be done? What kind of plan minutes should I be looking at? Any and all help appreciated!!

Since your primary phone is out of contract then you should be able to change your plan to something that is better. You should look for nights and weekends at 7 pm instead of 9 plus more benefits. You should be okay purchasing the Blackberry for the new line and then switching it. But keep in mind that if you purchase the Blackberry you will also have to add a $40 BB data plan. Plus when you swap the phones, you will lose your 2 year upgrade so you should use that on a different phone and then put that phone on the 5th line.

My current plan runs between $140-$170 a month. What plans are available in that range?

Power Pack Family Plans - nights start at 7 pm:
1400 minutes: $90 for first 2 lines plus $10 for each additional. Extra minutes 40 cents each.
2100 minutes: $110 for first 2 lines plus $10 for each additional. Extra minutes 35 cents each.
3000 minutes: $150 for first 2 lines plus $10 for each additional. Extra minutes 25 cents each.

One good thing about these plans is that you can get unlimited texting on all lines for $20 (total).
Vision/Power Vision plans are expensive - $15 to $25 per line.

go with the 1400min $90, 3/4 lines $20, so $110. u should be able to get this from retentions, 15% loyalty discount, free vision on main line, free or discounted vision on the other lines, 500 free texts all lines, or if the offer the free 500 all lines, ask them if they can give u $5 off of half off the $20 u/l family text. as it was said, with the 8830 u would need a bb data plan which is an extra $40

To the OP, did you have any luck??

To ghettocowyboy, yeah I tried something like this, but retentions would not budge from the "standard" pricing. I'm out of contract now, have 3 lines (considering adding a 4th), and I've been with Sprint for over 10 years.

btw, I currently get a corporate discount. Is it unreasonable to ask for a small perk like free family text or PV?

Any ideas?
Thanks.

ArcticGabe, you should definitely be able to ask for a loyalty discount if you've been with Sprint for 10 years. You may be able to ask for PV for $10 on the first line and $5 on the rest with a recurring EVDO credit to cover the costs. You could also ask for $15 unlimited text on all lines with another recurring credit. But you should be able to get some perks because you have been with Sprint for such a long time.

^ Thanks much. I was hoping for some good news. I've made 3 calls to them now in the past 2 days. Hopefully they don't drop me if I call again tonight. lol

Wish me luck, I'm going in . . . .

If the reps on the phone don't work, you can always try emailing eCare as well. That way you also have all of the offers they make you in writing in case of future reference. And on that note make sure you note call times and representative names that make you offers just in case there is a discrepancy in the future. You never know with Sprint.

i just helped some1 in the same boat as u. they had 5 lines and were paying $230 + corp discount. he stayed with the 2000min he had and they gave him 15% loyalty, free vision on all lines, and offered 500 free texts all lines but got discounted unlimited vision. his bill is now less than $130 after discounts. send me a pm and i can give you a couple things to say to get them to give you better offers

I spoke to a nice business retention rep today who was able to offer me PV and 500 texts per line for free. I was happy to see that they were kind enough to recognize my loyalty, and I graciously signed up for another 2 year ball-and-chain.

Oh, and to celebrate, I treated myself to a new LG Muziq!!

Life's Good . . . . . :hee:

glad i could help. what did u end up saying to get the web and text? a friend of mine just got sprint today and i had to tell them how retarded they were for not talking to me 1st. now they pay $100ish/month for 900min unlimited text and web and an upstage they dont like. now i have to work some magic and get them on a sero 1250 plan and a muziq or dlx lol. i was like, DUDE! u could be paying half that for 350 more minutes, they were like crap is it to late now? lol. lucky its a new number so if they wanna be jerks and not switch the line can just be closed out and a new sero opened
