Here's my First e-mail to e-care.
------------------------------------------
I really hope you can help me. I’m really in a tight bind right now. I just
got out of the Navy, and started a new job. I work 6 days a week 9am-5pm,
and cannot make it to a repair center. I have two broken phones (one on
each line) that are difficult to use. The directional pad on both phones
doesn’t work, and my wifes line (302-XXX-XXXX) won’t stay on for a period
of more than 10 minutes. I tried a buddies battery out of his phone (same
ppc 6700), and it’s the same thing. I thought maybe it was just the battery
(also tried my battery, but I know mine is going bad because mine will only
hold a charge for a few hours). I also just got a new computer with windows
vista, and cannot get the phones to sync. I can’t even get an update for
the phone seeing as how sprint quit updating them about a year ago. Our
phones are very important to us seeing as how we don’t have land line
phones.
I’m not sure what to do. Could you please advise me as to my options? I
have the TEP insurance, but cannot use it. If I can’t get this taken care
of a.s.a.p., I may have to switch providers. I’m sure that new I-Phone will
sync with windows vista.

Response I got.

Dear Tyler Livingston,

Thank you for contacting Sprint. I am delighted to assist you with your
questions.

I am sorry to hear that your phones are not working correctly.

In order to have your phone replaced, you will need to file an insurance
claim with Asurion (1-800-584-3666). You will be charged a $50.00 deductible
to have the replaced. Asurion requires that you send your broken phone to
them once you have received the replacement. If the phone is not returned,
they will charged a $200.00 non-return fee to your account.

The following are two Service and Repair centers that are open until 7PM:

Sprint Authorized Repair Center - Hytek Wireless (Dover)
1233 N. DuPont Hwy , Dover , DE 19901
(302) 741-0100

Advanced Wireless
14 South Main Street , Cape May Courthouse , NJ 08210
(609) 463-8778

If you have additional questions or comments, please do not hesitate to
reply to this email. I will be happy to assist you further.

Thank you for contacting Sprint. I appreciate your business, and am here
for you!

My response to their response
-----------------------------------
As I said I just got out of the Navy, my location has changed. My new zip
code is 15425.

A few other issues I forgot to mention are the fact that I can sync my
phones with my new pc (it has vista), the phone doesn't have any new updates
on sprint.com (dont feel secure getting on my bank account from my phone
anymore), and there is no way to upgrade to WM6. Please help me, I've been
incontact going back and fourth with sprint agents for the past two days. A
couple of them told me they can get me the next model up, but the insurance
agency was closed at that point. I'm kind of at my whits end (may end up
terminating the contract). If I do that new Iphone looks pretty nice, or
atleast something with wm6. I really hope you can help me.

That was e-care....

I've also been on the phone with sprint cutomer care... I've pretty much made my case with 6 different reps. I have two broken phones that I was replaced, and I dont want to have these issues again, nor the issues with the PC. What can I do inorder to get the to switch me???

It all depends on the rep you get. There is a whole thread of people trying to switch from a Q to a mogul, and a lot have been successful. I would read up on that thread since your situation is very similar.

You guys/gals do know that many of these threads get reported straight to Sprint by Sprint reps/members? Just because 1 or 2 get lucky does not mean everyone that try will get the same rusults.

You might want to remove your wife's phone number from the post.

You are only allowed to edit your post for 20 minutes. PM a mod, and they can edit it.

here's what i got out of the email

you said you didnt have time to make it to a repair center.
you had time to change batteries with a friend.
you said you couldnt use tep, which in fact is wrong, because there is the asurion portion.
then you threatened to cancel.
but you have time to go to cingular and set up everything for the iphone?

ecare pretty much said to either file the claim (since you cant make it to a repair center) or go get it fixed at service and repair and provided you with two locations.

you cant update 6700 to wm6. if you can do your upgrade for the moguls, go for it. if not, fork out the $1200+ and get yourself an iPhone.

im missing the point of the post. what i got out of the emails was:

I have 2 6700s that if I take to a store they will find they work perfectly.
I want 2 free Mogul upgrades.

....was that wrong? I got my Mogul cheaper then a new customer but I still paid hundreds for it. Stop being so cheap. go to a repair center and drop your phones off (most close at 7 or 8, though the repair guys leave at 5) so they can look at it the next day and then see what they say.
