Im being charged $200-$300 a month for this. I have two lines with unlimeted text messaging on them and the $7 insurance but it seems like im paying way to much. I was wondering what i could do to get my costs down. Could i switch to a sero plan? Could i do it without extending my contract?
**I was also told that i would get unlimited text messaging on both accounts for free but i am being charged for it. Dont know what to do

You could try and call and have your family plan split to SERO lines but that is very hard to do, especially with the number of lines you have. You could take away the insurance which would save you $. You could also email eCare about the free unlimited text that they said they would give you but did not. You could also check to see if the company you work for helps you qualify for a monthly discount.

If you want to switch to SERO then you may have to cancel and pay the ETF and then start over. Trying to switch to SERO from an existing plan is a very hard thing to do. You could call employee accounts and ask them to switch you to SERO, but they are most likely going to say no. It may take a couple of tries but some people have been able to switch to SERO. The worst they can say is no, so keep trying to call until they say yes.

You could try and email eCare but I bet they are going to send you a response that says to call customer service. But like I said before, the worst thing that they can say is no.

If my math is correct, your bill is $152
is the $200-300 bill due to overages? data usage? roaming? downloaded content?
also, if you want to switch over to 5 sero lines, 2 of them with TEP your total bill would be 5*30 (500 minute plan)+2*7 (TEP) = $167 pre-tax
depending on your usage, and the $200 per line ETF, switching to the SERO plans might not be a good idea in your case. Not to mention you will lose your current numbers
can you shed some light on how/why your bill is getting to $200-300?

On you bill go to page 2 of xx. It should say Account Summary at the top. Just below that it will say Charges by Line.
Each phone number will have its charges broken down by:
Monthly Service Charges - This is your reoccurring amount.
Additional Usage Charges... - This is where roaming, going over minutes, downloads, etc. are charged.
Other Charges - This is usually things like late fees or activation fees.
Other Credits & ... - This is where credits like nationwide volume discount are applied or if customer care gave you any credits.
Taxes - Taxes & fees. Usually about 15% of the bill.
I hope this helps a little. I would also talking to a Sprint rep in person or calling into customer care. Generally in person is a better idea. Bring in a copy of your bill though.

well obviously something isnt right. look at your physical bill. the 1st line's charges should say $84.99. the 2nd line's charges say $37.
at the bottom it should total $124.99.
taxes could be anywhere from 5-15 bucks, depending on your state.
look at your "other charges" column and see what you or sprint is doing wrong.
late fees? international texting? premium charges?

You could try and email eCare but I bet they are going to send you a response that says to call customer service. But like I said before, the worst thing that they can say is no.
I haven't had ANY luck with eCare at all. I asked for help on a straight foward double bill on my service on 2 lines and they told me to call Customer Service. I asked for help on a couple of other issues and they told me to call CS. I did ask them if I was eligible for a loyalty discount after 10 years but since I managed to get changed to SERO, apparently not. Except for the email about loyalty discount, I did not get the impression they were actually reading the emails.
I had the same plan you had until recently.
70 for 800 minutes for 2 lines plus 9.99 for a third line. It was a Family Fair and Flexible plan. I had $15 PV on line one and $5 text messaging on line 2. Line 3 incurred a few roaming and Canadian long distance charges. There was a NVP of 7 percent on the account which wasn't very much. Even with 310 minutes overage, I only was paying about $125. This was a Family fair and flexible plan so it was $5 for every additional $100 minutes. Oh yes, I paid $5 for nights and weekends to start @ 7:00PM.
I have had some very good CS help on the CS lines listed in the FAQs plus some help from the retention department. I was very upfront with them, told them I was not planning to cancel but I had been a customer since 1997 and needed some help with some issues on my account. Since you have been a customer for a while - I think you were on the same plan I had - you might be able to them to give you some help. I had no loyalty discounts or any free perks in the almost 10 years I have been with them. I didn't ask Retentions for them either, I merely asked them for some help. I have a phone number that gets a lot of misdialed business calls since my number has a 1 and their number has a 4. The misdialed calls didn't bother me except when they start hitting my minutes and sending me into overages that I have to pay for.
Are you in contract or not? If not you might want to port your numbers to a pay-as -you go phone, then sign up for SERO with two new lines. You would get to purchase new phones at at the new line discount. You can port your old numbers back into your new SERO lines later. Some of the other threads in this forum can explain this better than I can. You can always ask CS if they will change you over to SERO - it is probably less expensive to change you over than to have to resign you up again??
SERO is a great plan - $30 for 500 minutes, unlimited text, unlimited vision, PCS to PCS, nights/weekend starting at 7:00PM, America Roaming, etc. Not a family plan, each line gets their own plan so that would be $60 for 2 lines plus tax.

You could take the two phones that you have and sell them on ebay or sprintusers and then you could put that money towards the ETF. Then you could cancel and sign up again and get a new phone and the SERO plan that you want.

Did you have to extend another 2 years? Did both lines get changed into separate lines?

I was in contract when I had 3 family lines changed to SERO. Mine was a case of persistence and calling CS until I got the right rep to change me to SERO. It took a lot of calls. One of my lines is very low useage and will never use text or internet but I put it on also. My bill dropped a little but when the 3rd line is discontinued, it will be a lot cheaper for me, I extended my contract for 2 years.
