I'm finally thinking about upgrading my phone to the treo 755p. I was going to go the ebay route and possibly get a slightly used one (I have insurance anyway, so worse comes to worse, I get a brand spankin' new refurbished one..hehe).
But I came across this:
http://cgi.ebay.com/SPRINT-TREO-755P-755-TREO755-PALM-new-activation-ONLY_W0QQitemZ280135133370QQihZ018QQcategoryZ41355 QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
Cliff notes:
.99 cents for the phone with a new line of service. What I was thinking then is after 30 days, just pay the ETF ($200) and I get a new treo 755p for $200.99 cents and just switch the phone to my primary account.
Will that work?
Is there anything I should watch out for?
Thanks in advance guys.

You should be fine. But I would call and ask them how long the phone has to be activated for. Make sure that it is only 30 days. If they say yes, then you could prob go ahead and do this. But if you cancel the contract too early then they can charge you the full price for the phone and collections will come after you. So you have a good idea, just make sure about the exact amount of time that the phone has to stay activated.

Good idea. Thanks. I'll check it out now.

Oh another quick question. Say if this does work, and I want to use my treo earlier than waiting a full month on the other line. Can i switch my number to my old samsung (I have an M1 now), anytime before 30 days? Or do you have to have your number on that phone for a certain period of time?

You have to have the number on that phone for a certain period of time. That period of time varies between eBay sellers, so you should ask while you are purchasing the phone.

Make sure you are not entering a contract with the seller. When we got free phones from YOUNEVERCALL we also entered a six month contract with them. If we cancelled early,we had to pay them full cost of phone, and pay Sprint the ETF.

Yeah I called, they said its you must keep the account for 6 months. So i'm thinking about signing up another SERO account. What are Sprint's rules of cancelling account/swaping activated phone?

Definitely be careful, I signed with Inphonic with my SERO plan back in February. I have to keep the phone I got from Inphonic on the account for 181 days. If I do not then they will be me for the full price of the phone!
