I ported over from Nextel in February 2007 to a Sprint SERO 49.95 a month plan. At that time Inphonic was doing the SERO plans for Sprint. I am now 5 months into my plan and I am thinking of getting a Mogul or a Treo 755P since my Sanyo 8400's screen is just too small. I do a lot of web surfing on my phone.

My question is this:

Will I have to pay any penalty fees to Inphonic for dropping my 8400 and only using it 5 months. I am not looking for any discounts from Sprint since I will be buying my phone from Ebay.

Thanks to anyone who can help me with this.

I don't think you will have any problem doing a ESN swap. Especially now that SERO is back under Sprints control. I think that whole "must have line active for so many months" is still for certain third party retailers that give you really deep discounts. Even the companies on Ebay that have the Mogul for $99, you only have to have it associated with their line for 30 days now.

I just upgraded my phone and had the same question....a sprint rep in the store confirmed that it is tied to the line, not the phone. So as long as the line remains active you will not be charged.
