Free Phones.....

I just want to know why there isn't a lot of people doing this......

On eBay, there are a few retailers that offer phones for free with a new line of service. That's how I got my Treo, so now I have three lines. I'm going to do a Transfer of Liability for my older phone so that I'm back to just my phone and my wife's. My question is.... why don't people get a few free phones on eBay for free, then sell them by doing ToL to others?? Is there a limit on the amount of ToL's you can do in a period of time? It just seems too easy. :confused:

Because a lot of the ebay sprint dealers require that the phone be activated on your account for a certain amount of time. I think that if the phone leaves the account or is sold then they will bill you for the full price of the phone and collections will come after you. And the ebay dealers don't work with SERO.

As far as I know, you have to have the phone on the new line with the new plan for 30 days, then after that it's open season for new phone number, plan, ToL. :dunno:

Pinta is right. I many cases you have to leave the phone on your account for up to a year. If you sell it, they bill you.

It's more than likey a huge hassle, and not worth doing.

Are you sure about the year? I was told that it was only 30 days. I don't think they should be able to hold you for a year no matter how cheap the phone was, a lot of things can happen in that time period.

Oh! Okay, because I've already got my 700wx replaced with a 700p and changed my plan to SERO as well. I just got a little worried at first when you said a year, didn't sound right to me.
