I downloaded wavepad so i could make my own ringtones. About a week later, I went to make a ringtone and i got a message that the software preview has expired!! It directed me to a site where I could purchase it and it was over $100!!

I was wondering if I need to purchase the wavepad software or is there something else cheaper that will do the same job?? I read something in another thread about Quicktime Pro...but I don't rememember if it was refering to making your own ringers...

They kinda hid the link on the Wavepad site....

When you d/l this version, after the 14 days- it still works...

its from their forum:

You can also try Audacity or DBPoweramp.

Just to double check the link worked, I unstalled my version, installed the one from the link provided and set my windows clock ahead (to simulate the trial period end). I got the pop up that some features would be disabled- but everything else works fine (saving included).

You can check your version:
When you start the program under "Licensed User" you see "Unlicensed Basic Free Version" on the splash screen. Otherwise you can check it from inside the program ('Help' then 'About').

Be sure to uninstall BEFORE you install the one from the link in the previous post. If you don't, you'll have the problem you describe and the program is pretty much useless (as far as free version goes).

I think you'll need to uninstall it and re-install the one at the link provided earlier.:ohcrap:

Hope this helps!

Yep. I do this all the time. You must uninstall the program and then install it again.

Thanx! :D I am going to try unistalling my current program and reinstalling wavepad using the link.... :fingers:
