When I hit fifty,my kids will be old enough, I would like to give it a try. Only seven years and two weeks!

If you wait until you hit fifty to start you mind as well not even think twice about it. Most people don't have the patience to play with their kids anyway, b/c their kids are better than them if they start at the same time. I would start now so you are ready when you kids are of age.

Sometimes its a tough decision for me. I have to choose between golf and watching my grass grow. :)

Well the last time I golfed at a driving range I broke the head off of two of my g/f's dad's old drivers. So I don't golf. I would love to get my swing fixed so I could b/c I used to play and really liked it. I swing a golf club kinda like a baseball bat. I come down on the ball with a chopping stroke as if I was hitting a baseball. Thats what I get for playing baseball for most of my life.

Wow! glad to hear someone say something positive!!

Okay guess my avatar gives me away... oh wait, there's that pesky user name too!!

I absolutely love the game, obviously ;) It takes so much more skill then most realize. And it's because of that it is extremely humbling. The pros make it look easy, but getting your body contorted and twisted and generating that club head speed through the ball... well it's a thing of poetry when it happens.

And, as steamsoccer said, with a group of friends, well it doesn't get a lot better imho. Remember, if you aren't playing well, just drink more beer. And don't pick up a lost ball... until after it stops rolling ;)

Enjoy ;)

Mark Twain said that golf is a good walk spoiled. I tend to agree with him.

what's more fun than a walk and taking a whack a little white ball?

That reminds me of someone that I use to golf with... he said they didn't call it golf where he was from, they called it "whack-f**k" ...

Cause first you heard the "whack" then you heard the oh "f**k" ;)

Hey again, I challenge anyone, play this game... and say you're not humbled. Cause I won't believe you no way.

i very much like golf, although i don't get to play very often. Been at it for over 15 years and even played on my High School team back in the mid-1990's.
