View Full Version : Poor battery life with belt clip?

I recently got a belt clip for my M1 and it seems as though my battery life has dramatically dropped, barely lasting a day. Is it possible that the clip could be blocking the antenna and the phone keeps searching for a signal, thus draining the battery?

When I carried the phone in my pocket, it would last for a few days on a charge.

That is quite possible. When it goes searching for the Sprint signal, it checks every 15 minutes or something like that, and that eats up the battery life terribly.

What type of belt clip is it, is it metal or what?

Nope, just your standard plastic. I'm going to try a test over the next couple of days so see if the problem really is related to the clip. I'll let everyone know what I find out. Thanks!

I ran through a series of tests to see if my belt clip was causing any issues with signal reception and battery life in my M1 and I can say now that the myth is busted. It must have been just one of those fluke things. If you're thinking about getting an M1, stop thinking and just do it!

BTW, some reviewers have complained about the cheap "plastic" feel of the M1. I just dropped mine onto concrete from about 5 feet. Scuffed the back of the battery a little bit but the phone works just fine!
