Yesterday, 5/30/07 while I was at the Sprint store purchasing some accessories, I asked if they had the M1 extended battery in stock. I wanted to view a M1 extended battery to see how much thicker it was and if my leather case could handle the increase thickness of the extended battery.

They did not have the M1 extended battery and the Sprint employee mentioned that he was asked to return all Sanyo batteries as he pointed to the rack on the wall of empty Sanyo battery accessories for various models.

This Sprint store appeared to be very well stocked with accessories due to I had been to a few other Sprint stores trying to find the Sanyo Travel Charger that uses the data cable instead of the tiny plug-in jack known as the universal jack to connect to the phone.

I asked him if there was a battery recall on the Sanyo cell phone batteries and he said that he was not aware of any recall and he hope not since he is using an extended battery.

Have any of the members that work for Sprint been told to return their Sanyo batteries?

I had to take my wife's Katana to the Sprint store yesterday, and they didn't mention anything about a recall. Although the world could end and I'm not sure they would know that either.

Isn't that the truth! I used to work there and if it weren't for me being so nosey, I wouldn't have known anything either!

About the batteries, I am a service tech for a third party and we have not heard of any recalls. I know that a corporate store tht we're "buddies buddies" with is going to be giving us some batteries, but I think that they are just getting rid of them. The M1's end of life is June 16th.... but that still shouldn't matter as people can still go in and get accesseries for 4920.

a lot of batteries just got sent back to the warehouse. katana extd batteries are gone (probably because of katana 2), a900's batteries sent back (end of life), and i'm pretty sure normal samsung batteries got sent back too.
