Wirelessly posted (M1: Mozilla/4.0 (MobilePhone SCP-M1/US/1.0) NetFront/3.3 MMP/2.0)
Anyone else having crappy battery life. Ive had my M1 since its release and over the past 2 weeks my battery barely makes it through the day. I use the phone minimally.

go into on demand and select options and disable auto updating, that will save you alot of life, also turn off location if you dont use the gps features
im on day 1 with the on demand auto update disabled and i just got home with full battery life for the first time evar!

Auto update off, bluetooth on, location on, all backlights at minimum time, and i average
30-60 mins talk/day (not usually with bt headset tho)
30-60 mins of music/day
10-20 texts
15-30 min of vision/telenav
...and my phone lasts all day, normally down to 2 bars sometimes one depending on the day. i'd say my M1 has pretty good battery life. i just have to remember to charge it everynight since it'll die if i leave it at 2 bars or 1 overnight :irked:

I havent had any battery lasting issues but I would like to know if mine is disabled or not.
OOPS! nevermind I found it :o

sorry i was going off memory i should of actually picked up my phone and been exact
so far 4 and a half hours later still havent lost 1 bar made plenty of phone calls
what gets me is on demand auto updates when you open it(takes like 2-3 seconds too), so the background updating is really not needed at all

So...as I stated earlier I never had a issue with my battery not lasting long, but do you think that now that I disabled the on demand auto update that my battery life will be even better?

for sure it will be, the evdo data connection will be able to go idle which will save a decent amount of life
and if you dont use the nav/gps functions of the m1 turn off location for even better life
i had some issues with battery life but not really i still got 2 days or so even with ondemand (with the occasional 1 day-er) im hoping for 3 days now with on demand disabled

clearly you aren't using the phone much... I couldn't see this phone getting much more than 2 true hours of talk time... assuming you can even hold the phone that long... this damn thing gets hot as hell...
I can drain my battery from about 15 (2-3) minute opera-mini myspace sessions, 30 minutes of talktime, and a few pictures and videos... easily...
I keep a charger in my car so I can use the phone the way I like.... I love browsing through my pictures and whatnot... eats the battery right up... so with two full charges a day, I get by just fine and I can play around all I want...
if I just use it for texting and phone calls, and taking a picture now and then, I can make it all day, easily... probably without losing a single bar...
the phone has a decent battery, but it's jam-packed with features, and that eats up power...

i have been using it quite alot
at least 45 minutes worth of calls with earthlink (for the past 2 weeks there automated system keeps calling me at 7:30 am to update my payment method which i refuse to do my bill isnt due until the 18th but they auto-charge my CC on the 1st, then have the odasity to have REPS call me and say my bill is late and every time i tell them the same thing, its not due until the 18th ill pay it on or before that day "but your CC was to be charged on the 1st" i dont care when it was to be charged, ill pay it when i feel like it then after i get that fixed i find out that rep subscribed me to earthlinks PC optimizer bs which has an extra charge so i had to call back)
an hour with my girlfriend
at least 30 minutes worth of calls to my friend who tried calling me then his phone was off (found out his car died thats why he called)
a couple on demand sessions while i used the porcelain throne
and i just lost my first bar of life, im going to continue using it until it dies i wonder if it will last until tomorrow
i dont use it for the web much, thats what my pc, or laptop are for, and also my xbox 360 and 700p

I had a fully charged battery and streamed music online for 2.5 hours and bttery died. I can easily get a days use on normal phoe calls and a few text msgs. I ordered 2 extra batteries for long jobs when I want the extra power to be able to stream music and long road trips etc.

Today while I was at the Sprint store purchasing some accessories, I asked if they had the M1 extended battery in stock. I wanted to view a M1 extended battery to see how much thicker it was and if my leather case could handle the increase thickness of the extended battery.
They did not have the M1 extended battery and the Sprint employee mentioned that he was asked to return all Sanyo batteries as he pointed to the rack on the wall of empty Sanyo battery accessories for various models.
This Sprint store appeared to be very well stocked with accessories due to I had been to a few other Sprint stores trying to find the Sanyo Travel Charger that uses the data cable instead of the tiny plug-in jack known as the universal jack to connect to the phone.
I asked him if there was a battery recall on the Sanyo cell phone batteries and he said that he was not aware of any recall and he hope not since he is using an extended battery (not M1).

ive always had excellent battery life with my m1. an hour or so of talk time, about 30 mins of web browsing, and 15mins of tv viewing, and would only drop one bar.
but the last few weeks its been horrible. yesterday i took it off the charger in the morning, made 2 five minute phone calls, and went on the web for a minute to check a score, and the battery was completely dead by 10pm. i took it to the store today, and they said they would have to run a 4 hour test on the phone. i didnt have that much time today so ill have to go back tommorow.
