Hey guys.. I just upgraded from the Sanyo 8200 to the M1. One problem i've noticed is the VM icon is the same as the text icon. I get a lot of annoying VM's and the thing keeps popping up.. on my old phone it wasn't a big deal, because there was a big difference in the two icons.. So now I can't tell if I have a VM or a text message, without going into the txt folder. If I can't figure it out, i'm gonna have to call sprint and see if they can shut off VM on my phone. (if that's even possible) I made it a little easier for myself by creating a favorite to clear the VM count, but it's still a pain.

and one more thing, does anyone know if there's a to create your own theme? I do like the different menu's the themes have to offer, but i'm not crazy over the 4 main icons/shortcuts they choose for me. It would be nice, if the themes changed the looks of every screen (for example the text message menu is still that boring blah wallpaper.

Other than those two things I think the phone is pretty damm awesome

you can turn off new voicemail notifications by calling your voicemail, but then if you get new voicemails your phone will not be notified.

also the Missed alerts in the main menu had all the events (vm, text, pics, etc) that you have missed, try using that.

as far as i know, no one has figured out the themes yet.

Oh wow that would be awesome!! I've been searching around the menu on the Voicemail.. I went to personal Options (3) Then Settings (1) and I couldn't find it in there... any clue on where it is?
And thanks for the quick reply!

i told you wrong, sprint used to have an option in the settings menu that said "phone notification for new voicemail messages is currently on, to turn off press..." i gues they must have removed that option.

customer service can remove voicemail from your phone if you really don't want it.

but the phone, when you open it should show you the missed events (new text, missed calls/vm). it's also the same list as when you goto menu>missed alerts. also when the phone is closed you can see all of the missed alerts by press the vol up and down buttons with keyguard off.
