Can't sign up for sero online any more?
It asks for an email but you can't sign up? you have to call?

Interesting.

Perhaps because people were calling in anyway they changed it?

They must have just changed this within a few hours. I logged in earlier this morning and it was the usual site. The white 8400 was on there earlier too. It's gone now.

One minute I was in the old site looking at the dwindling phone selection, and the next I logged in again and it was the new page with the Enterprise Telesales number. But they don't appear to know how to do it.

Over at FW, people have been calling the number to get SERO and they are being asked for a real email address. Possibly the end of the open access.

If they say it's not valid, ask them why it lets you into the website.

They asked me for an address and that's what I gave them. My wife signed up and mine is supposedly part way in the system.

Has Sprint cut ties with Inphonic? After you enter a Sprint employee's email address you see the following screen (no mention on Inphonic anywhere):

^ Yep, that's the new page. And the number goes to Sprint's Enterprise Telesales. I tried calling the 866 Inphonics number and it seemed like it was disconnected.

Good!

Inphonics sucks. I bet Sprint got tired of them and their lousy customer service reps.

Could be part of Sprint doing away with 3rd party support...

my friend was just thinking about getting a sero plan with the sanyo m1 in the next couple of days. i guess it's going to be much harder now. plus, it looks like they dropped the m1. they seem to have added 2 broadband cards though and pulled the USB one they had. and the treo 755 is now available.

The change must have happened at noon.

Are they doing this to make it harder to sign in for sero- especially now when they are also giving away free unlimited texting?

I'm glad I snuck in last Thursday then...

I FINALLY got signed up for SERO with the Treo 755p. It took hours to find someone who could do it, but I'm finally set. I should have my new Treo on Wednesday.

This is really disappointing.

My Verizon contract ended May 20th. I was hoping to switch to Sprint, and sign up for the "SERO $30 for 500 minutes plan" with free unlimited text, and then add the $3 Canada Roaming feature.

The SERO site previously had the Samsung M610 phone as an available phone, and now they only have lower grade phones and a smaller selection.

You cant sign up for SERO online anymore.

I called the Enterprise number and was told there was a 90 minute wait!
I was asked to enter my phone # and Enterprise would call me back in 90 minutes.

When they called me back, I was put on hold for 15 minutes before talking to a LIVE person.

The CSR told me that he wasn't trained on SERO and that I would have to call a special number for SERO.

The special number he gave me was the SAME exact number I had JUST called! It's the Enterprise number listed on the SERO website (1-888-882-4030).

This really sucks!

I want the Sprint Samsung M610 phone with the SERO $30 plan :(

I would advise you to just kinda suck it up and call again. Yea, I know the person you got the first time didn't know a whole lot, but there are many people at that number who are familiar with SERO. Sure, the wait times are really really long, but trust me. SERO is worth it. You could also try calling at off peak hours, like early in the morning.

Good luck!

Good news!

I just signed up for the $30 SERO plan with the Samsung M610 phone!

They said ALL sprint phones are now available for SERO!

I was told the free unlimited text promotion ends June 30th. After June 30th my bill will start to accrue a charge of $15 for unlimited text so be sure to cancel the unlimited text option after June 30th if you want to avoid the $15 fee.

Now all I have to do is wait until I receive my new phone from Sprint before I can port my number from Verizon. They wouldn't let me port my Verizon number over the phone because it would "slow the process"...whatever that means.

I hope Sprint won't give me a hassle to port my Verizon number to my new SERO phone. I was assigned a new phone number until I port my Verizon number.

Bottom line: I got my deal! :)

Your rep must have been smoking something. That promotional offer is for unlimited text for as long as you keep it there.

The rep was wrong. Like dethl said, the promotion is good for the life of your plan. You just have until 6/30 to sign up and get unlimited SMS. Once you have it, it's good as long as you have your plan. I specifically asked two reps about this and was told the same thing, that it's good forever.

The good news is that he was able to still get SERO and the phone he wanted.

Greg, did you give them one of the many open access email addresses or did they just let you sign up? I have a friend who wants to sign up so I want to prepare him.

gregmech26
05-22-2007, 09:40 AM
I sure hope you're right. The rep I spoke to was very adamant that my bill will FOR SURE go up an extra $15 after June 30th. She repeated it almost 5 times and made sure I "understood" it was definetely going up after June 30th.

Right now, I'm mainly concerned about porting my Verizon number. I'm hoping I wont have to activate my new Samsung M610 phone with that temporary sprint number they gave me.

I'm hoping I can simply call sprint and have them program my new sero phone directly with my old verizon number.

Also, is there any way to check that I have "unlimited text" on a permanent basis? If not, can I make it permanent?

Plus, I was told I had to pay $36 for activation but I would get a $36 credit on my bill. Is this normal??

I was also told that I had to pay $129 for my new Samsung M610 phone, but would get a $50 "mail-in" rebate.

I hope this is legit and I will get all these credits of $86! LOL

It's funny, when I first called this morning my rep told me she couldnt get me any phone except the ones listed on the SERO website. Then when I "threatened" to hang up because I only wanted the M610, she put me on hold and said I could chose ANY sprint phone. Interesting...

And the rep I called yesterday had no clue about SERO even though I called the SERO number. I guess it's all who you talk to at Sprint.

I hope it ALL works out with the PORT and the SERVICE CREDITS! and I hope my phone is BRAND NEW factory sealed and not refurbished.

I also need to add the Canada Roaming option for $3 per month just in case Sprint decides to one day remove that affordable feature (like Verizon did and now charges $60). I want to lock in these rates now. LOL

Anyways, thanks everyone for all your help.

It better not be until 6/30. I just can't wait until I get a bill, invoice, or can see my plan online to make sure there's no expiration date for SMS.

Well crap.....

I've been waiting patiently for my contract to go belly-up on May 27th and this happens. I was hoping I could do the whole thing online only to find the phone choices SUCK.

I suppose I shouldn't have any real problem signing up since I really don't care if I get a new phone number or not (unless our new area code applies). I just need to go phone shopping to see what's out there today.

If there is no date next to a feature, then does that mean there is no expiration? Or would it specifically say there is no expiration?

I just logged into the website with my SERO account and it didn't mention text messaging as being on my plan. I remember seeing someone say that, but when he checks his usage, it shows he has unlimited despite it not explicitly saying it was part of the plan. I tried to check out my usage and I managed to lock myself out of my account. I'm on hold for CS to get back in. :(

OK, here's what it looks like. Here's what it shows for plan details, nothing for text messaging.

However under current usage, it shows unlimited text messaging. I confirmed with CS that it is on my plan, and that it's not just for a limited time.

Luckily i just spoke to a rep who added the sero plan on my next billing cycle with unlimited internet and data for free and she brought my unlimited text for $15 to my sero plan with my $10 monthly credit(so its really $5 for unlimited text)

i guess i got lucky cause i was on the site when i talked to her about it and today i cant even log in......damn!

I just realized on Sprint.com that the Samsung M610 phone is "buy one get one free."

Will I be receiving 2 phones, or will I only be getting one since it's SERO?

My rep didnt mention anything about the "buy one get one free" offer this morning when I signed up for SERO.

You will most likely receive only one. These kind of promotions usually apply to customers activating 2 lines of service.

letsgoflyers81, I just signed up for the Sero plan and I have the same information onmy account. I called customer service to verify I had "unlimited texting" and the lady said yes. She seemed new so I asked her if I could also apply my work discount (told her Best Buy) and she said no problem. It's supposed to start in 60 days...I hope it goes through.

Also, I had a "credit" in my account for about $80, did this happen to you too?

I just signed into SERO website and only certain phones and mobile broadband cards are showing. Must call their 888 number for the phones and mobile broadband cards. Cannot order via the website.

The SERO voice/data plans are no longer being shown and I just checked the Sprint website voice/data plans and it is the usual voice/data plans showing.

Just look at their other great achievments.....

Any company that can create an ad campaign around "Connectile dysfunction treatment center" really makes me second guess how well they can do much of anything (and Wallstreet is on to this as well)
