You won't find tips on how to get a SERO plan, or any features associated with it, in this thread. If that's what you were looking for, I'm sorry to have inconvenienced you. What you will get from this thread, though, is a detailed explanation of the following:

I. What is SERO and why does it exist?
SERO (Sprint Employee Referral Offer) is a series of plans, that are comprised of both voice calling and data plans. SERO plans include extra perks and features that standard voice calling and data plans don't have, and are usually reserved for the friends and family members of Sprint employees, as indicated on the SERO homepage:
You've been invited by a Sprint Nextel employee or an employee of one of our strategic partners to receive special savings through SERO—our Sprint Employee Referral Offer! It's simple. Choose to shop for either Sprint or Nextel devices and enter the email address you were provided.
Sprint has been known, on occasion, to make SERO available to the public. Holiday Season 2006, Sprint opened SERO to the general public (http://a676.g.akamaitech.net/f/676/773/60m/images.delivery.net/cm50content/1529/09008101806249a7/FriendsAndFamily.jpg) , using savings@sprint.com and openaccess@sprint.com in place of the normally required Sprint employee email address.
SERO was originally intended as a reward for Sprint customers who were referred by Sprint employees. Even now, that's still the premise under which it operates. Sprint realized it was a very popular plan and opened it to the public without advertising it a whole lot, knowing that they would gain subscribers but still make money as long as everyone didn't switch to SERO.
II. What are the SERO program policies?
- Standard credit check will be ran prior to activation
- Two year contract is required
- SERO is an exclusive offer through www.sprint.com/SERO (http://www.sprint.com/SERO), and not available through retail stores
- SERO is available to new Sprint customers or existing Sprint customers adding a new line of service
- SERO is not available in affiliate markets
- SERO voice calling plans are single line plans only
The Sprint Employee Referral Offer is for new customers only. However, existing Sprint customers who are out of contract and renewing a Two-year Subscriber Agreement are also eligible for this offer. Sprint Employees who are currently employee liable and receive the 23 percent discount are eligible to swap their plan by calling the Employee Accounts Group at (888) 876 8381.
Unfortunately, new Sprint customers are able to port their number from their existing carrier to Sprint when they sign into the plan but existing customers cannot port numbers from an existing Sprint account. Therefore, existing customers still in a subscriber agreement are required to activate a new line of service with a Two-year Agreement and are issued a brand new phone number. Furthermore, an existing customer may cancel the account early but a termination fee is required if the existing account is within the contract period.
An existing customer who has fulfilled the term agreement is treated like a brand new customer and is issued a brand new phone number.
III. There are 3 voice calling plans currently available under SERO?
All SERO voice calling plans include the following features:
- Unlimited Text Messaging (available on all SERO voice calling plans until June 30, 2007)
- Sprint Vision or Power Vision Included Free
- Unlimited Web access
- Unlimited email and instant messaging - AOL, MSN and Yahoo
- Unlimited Sprint PCS Picture Mail(sm) with Video Mail
- Unlimited Night & Weekend Minutes Starting At 7PM
- Unlimited Mobile To Mobile Calling
- Nationwide Long Distance
- Voice Mail
- Caller ID
- Call Waiting
- Numeric Paging
- Three-Way Calling
- Call Forwarding ($0.20/min)
- Sprint PCS Directory Assistance ($1.40 per call, plus airtime)
- Casual Text Messages ($0.15 per domestic message)
*Sprint usually neglects to enable Picture Mail when you sign up for SERO. Simply call CS or e-mail E-Care to have this enabled. Not all phones have the capability to do picture mail.
IV. There is 1 SERO data plan available under SERO
All SERO voice calling plans include the following features:
- Anytime Minutes Per Month: 0
- Weekend Minutes None Included In Plan: 0
- Contract Term: 2 years
- Monthly Service Charge: $49.99
- Additional Minutes: $0.20
- Long Distance Charge: $0.00
- Roaming Charge: $0.50/min
- Activation Fee: $0.00
- Early Termination Fee: $200.00
I think SERO is great. I have no complaints.
It's like they're saying "Thank you for coming over to Sprint.
I think SERO is great for everyone- the user and Sprint since it gives the customer a great plan and Sprint gets more customers.

If you sign up for SERO before June 30, 2007, you will have unlimited text messaging included as long as you have the plan. It's not just a free month.

SERO plans DO include the America Roaming part, which says that domestic roaming is included free (as long as not more than 50% of the minutes are roaming minutes). The thing is, Sprint also has roaming agreements internationally, which allow you to use your CDMA Sprint PCS phone when you are in another country. However, that type of roaming is NOT free. It will charge you at the normal international roaming rates (probably around $1.99 - $2.99 per minute). Hope that helps any.

Since Sprint gives you three months to change your plan without a contract renewal, you should be able to. Since it has only been two weeks since you activated this line, I don't think it will be that hard.

A numeric page is when someone leaves their call back number. If you do not have a text plan, you will be charged for a casual text msg.

Don't pass on the unlimited texting for free. Email ecare and save the conversations you have with them so you can refer back to them if needed. It is its own record keeping system.

My SERO plan took effect on 6/1 that I had setup in early May. I had to call to get the Unlimited Text Messaging added to my SERO plan after I reviewed my online sprint.com account and I did not see the unlimited text messages listed when you click on Current Usage.
Kudos to the sprint rep for calling me back on my cell phone when she disconnected our call when I was waiting on hold while she was checking if she could add the unlimited text messaging to my SERO plan.
Checked my online account within a minute and saw the Unlimited Text Messaging in the Current Usage.
Cha-Ching! my 90th day of service was up on 5/24.
Called on 5/23 to switch to SERO 1250. kept my readylink, and my nights at 7 and unlimited text for $10/mo. Called to get the texting to $0, and moved my nights to 6. went WAY too easy. :)

Weird stuff has happended to my SERo account. Aparently I have been switched over to the new biling system. Now When I look at my plan it says I am on the Sprint ADV F & F 1250. My plan is the same but it no longer list Unlimited Vision access or America Roaming in my plan details. But when I check my usage it says Unlimited in the Vision section. I also says unlimited next to the text messages, but I never called and asked to be switched to the new plan w/ unlimited text. I really didnt care. I am confused.

None of those Power Vision packs are part of SERO. The Vision and Power Vision that is included with SERO is actually encoded in the plan itself. It isn't a separate feature that can be added or removed.

No, you cannot add a different Power Vision Plan.
However, you could add some of the sprint TV packs available on your phone.
The vision access (evdo or regular 1xrtt) is part of the SERO package and cannot be changed.
The only thing that you could do as far as data is concerned, is add the BlackBerry data package on top of the SERO plan. Sprint made an exception for those blackberry users who ordered through SERO.

No, you cannot add a different Power Vision Plan.
Are you sure? I don't see how adding a Power Vision pack to a SERO line would create any sort of conflict. The PV feature would just appear on his line twice, but he would also have the features of whichever PV pack he selected.

If you don't have a contract on your existing line, once again try and get the above departments to just change you to the SERO plan and sign another contract. Sprint may not allow that, in which case you might have to port your old phone number to something else, like Verizon (30 day trial offer), or a pre-paid phone. Then port back onto the SERO line you already got. Good Luck. Let us know how it goes...

Sure, you can both have SERO, but you can't share minutes. SERO is only available to indiviual lines of service. So; while your line may no be on your girlfriend's account, if you both choose SERO, they will remain as two independent lines of service.

In short, if you really want to sign up with SERO I would bite the bullet and pay the $80 that the SERO site lists the phone for. Often with the eBay deals that give you a fre phone, you're limited to not being able to do an ESN swap or a plan change for a certain number of days. If someone of these eBay dealers catch you breaking their rules, some will end up billing you for the full outright price of the phone.

I just called to get SERO and the representative said there was no unlimited txt messaging. He could only find one plan that offered it, but it was only for people signing up through InPhonic. Anyone have an 800 number that worked to get their SERO plan? Thanks in advance.

They pretty much know all there is to know about the SERO plans, and in fact from what I have heard, they are going to become the new "official" SERO department at some point in the future. Also, the code is #C SERO SMS UNL $0 in case the rep can use it. Good Luck and let us know how it goes...

yeah i was recently switched over and had problems with my account. Regular CS couldn't do anything for me. I had 9pm nights and weekends added and I asked to get it fixed to 7pm and 2 reps actually said "... and why would we do that?" Told them to go look at sprint.com/sero and suddenly they they weren't so rude lol. Call that # and you won't get attitude because they know what you're talking about and know how to fix things related to sero.

Unfortunately, it is sometimes just the luck of the draw with the rep you to talk to. Sometimes they give you all the standard stuff (new customer only, blah blah), other times they switch you over no problem. You could probably try again and give it another shot in a day or so. Just curious, are you out of contract, how long you been a sprint customer, what is your current plan, how much do you pay? The reason I ask all of this, is because depending on all of that, you can talk some reps into it. I have noticed if you try calling the Employee accounts at about 9:30 pm CST, there is very little wait, and they might be more quick to give it to you as they are about to leave :)

My current plan obligation is till Oct 2008. I've been a customer since Dec 2002. I currently pay $60 for 450 anytime mins with nights starting at 7pm, the Vision plan and 400 txt messages a month. So the SERO plan would be a great savings. Thanks for the help here, I'll post under another topic. I also need a new phone and have the $150 credit. Appreciate all the help!

Umm..., if you are on a SERO plan, I would call back or email e-care and get the unlimited texting added for FREE. All existing SERO plan holders should be able to get that added with minimal issues. If you get someone that says $8 / month or whatever, just call back and speak with a different rep, and have them goto the website http://www.sprint.com/sero if they still don't believe you. Good Luck and let us know how it goes...

yeah.. they said they could give me free unlimited texting if I took the power vision plan at full $15 OR I could have power vision for $10 and pay for texting. I don't text much (about 20 per month) so, I just decided to just get the power vision for $10 and cut my losses. 20 texts at 15 cents per text is only $3 and the lowest text plan they offered me was $5 for 300 texts which they said I could add on at any time. They offered unlimited texts for $8 if I wanted it. I don't know if I have a Sero plan or not. I was talking to retentions.

If you sign up for SERO before June 30, 2007, you will have unlimited text messaging included as long as you have the plan. It's not just a free month.

I joined sprint when Vision first kicked up pretty much. And i had that original unlimted vision that came with unlimited texts all for $15
Since then, they've separated texts and vision (it used to come together) to their own charges. BUTTTT, do to a mistake on some real dumbass of a CSR, that was taken off muy account and i noticed like 5months ago when i had like $300 bills from texts alone.
When i mentioned they said they cant fix it because the code for unlimited vision+texts $15 that we had grandfathered for years is long gone... :mad:
Could i use this as a bargaining chip to start a SERO plan wit unlimited texts/vision on it??
Also, first i'd need to kno if its even possible to start a SERO plan out from the plan i'm currently in. I'm on a shred plan with 2 other phones but wanna take out my own line for myself off that shared plan.
Would i b able to SERO that one with everything grandfathered from the shared plan too?

Some have been able to get it done, but most successes have been through retentions. Check out the Sero thread at Slickdeals . . .

The old sero threads had people adding on blackberry plans on top of their Sero plans. I don't want to call customer service because I haven't gotten a phone yet. I don't have a phone number yet to look up my plan etc. I just know I picked the 1250 mins and assumed the unlimitted data etc was the data plan appropriate for the 755P since it mentioned the EVDO and I tripple checked the map to make sure coverage was good in my area.

Yes, unlimited EVDO data is included with all SERO voice plans. The only time you would add a Blackberry data plan on top of your SERO plan, is if you...had a Blackberry.

well a treo plan is not unlike a blackberry plan in terms of data and email. In fact many carriers charge more for the treo data plan than for the blackberry plan but I confirmed it on the treo list I belong to. What an awesome deal!!!

:confused: I have SERO on 3 phones. Two phones are Power Vision and one is Vision (father in law). On the Power Vision phones, I am confused about what we can do since it does not fall into the TV/Music/GPS/Ultimate Power Vision packages. My son has downloaded several songs onto his Upstage and Picture Mailed a photo to me so I think we have that capability but what about Sprint TV and radio access? My old Power Vision plan automatically had Sprint TV. I do not want my son accessing Sprint TV/radio if there will be additional charges beyond specific approved music downloads - he is a kid. He is being responsible by asking prior to doing anything but I would like to give him some clearer guidelines - like he has x texts and x minutes this month etc.
Also, since I am the administrator account, my line is registered online. When I logon, I can access billing information for all 3 phones and MyContent for my phone. Prior to SERO, I originally had a shared family plan which is why all numbers show up under my account. Now under SERO, they each have separate plans but I do not want everything separated. How do I get to MyContent on my son's phone? If I set his phone number up online, will the billing/ invoice information start showing under that logon? (I really do not want to have to logon under a different number to check his useage numbers.) Can I block him from online account access and only have access to MyContent on his number? I need to be able to see what has been downloaded and correct if necessary. I have looked and looked and have found nothing related to this. :1zhelp: :1zhelp: Thanks

As to the SERO question above yours. You have access to how many minutes/texts have been used on all three of your SERO lines (or should). When you log in you should see "Show Numbers", click it.

The PowerVision included in the SERO plan...... take it to be just like the Power Vision Access Pack (the $15 pack) but when you watch SprintTV, a couple of channels are missing compared to the Access Pack.

I hate to play around with my phone - I always end up doing something wrong - I think I downloaded a game by accident last time I got too curious about what I actually have service coverage. :huh: Yes I know about the 99 cents song download. The deal I have with him - he downloads, I get the money - LOL. :laughing: It will cost HIM money so that should stop that action plus he knows I'll cut service on the number if he doesn't behave responsibly. Anyways, I did get the unlimited texting - but I told him he had 500 text per month so he would limit his use to something reasonable - same with AT minutes. Periodically I check the account to see how much he is using and then tell him if he is beinging reasonable or not in his useage. He has been managing with a very basic Sanyo 200 - no camera for many months so his grandma bought him the Upstage as a "graduation" present. I actually printed off a bill and made him account to me every number he called in one month whether or not it was nights or AT. :rolleyes: I want him to get into "good" phone useage habits now before he goes wild. :tu:
My concern now is getting that MyContent set up on his phone so he can back up what he has purchased and NOT have access to the account information.

all I know is I just signed up two days ago and I have unlimited text messages. I called today to find out the details of my plan since online gives no information. I had the rep confirm all my features.

online but the weird thing is my online order shows as 'in fufillment center'
and they had a lot of trouble activating my phone and according to CS my plan starts August 11th. online when i went to order powervision services it said my plan doesn't cover it but it's on my phone and the CS rep I spoke to says i have it with unlimited text. I will send an email to ecare but I was told I had-all confirmed by customer service:

domestic romaing is just within the US, but there are no sprint towers/network thats why u pick up other providers network, but the other romaing charges is using the phone outside hte us... that is internationally roaming...

I asked the Sprint employee/friend who let me use his email, and he said that he was never notified that I had used his address as a referral. Also, Sprint employees have an unlimited number of SERO referrals.

You have two options really. If you are out of contract, then you can either:
1) Try and get your plan switched to SERO through Employee Accounts or E-Care, and then as long as you have had your same phone for more than 22 consecutive months, you should then be able to go to the store and upgrade your phone and get the $150 discount.
OR
2) Open a NEW SERO line, which will allow you to buy a NEW phone, with $150 discount because you are opening a "NEW" line of service. Then once you receive and activate your phone, you can either just cancel your old line out right (loosing your old phone number), or you can try and call TECH SUPPORT and get them to try to move your old lines phone number to the new SERO line, and then cancel the old line.

i went with option number 2. But so far my status hasn't progressed at all with my order.
I am gonna try to get the 75 kellogg, 100MIR, 50 invoice, and 25 referral if the phone ever comes.
I then will just cancel my old line and go with the new number, might as well start fresh..

Hey just wanted to let you know that I just went through switching from Nextel to Sprint. My situation might be a little different as I was wanted to get away from Nextel and go to Sprint. What I did was activated 2 new SERO lines under a new account. After receiving the phones called in and ported over my Nextel numbers. After all is said an done I have 2 new phones on SERO and the Nextel lines have been cancelled with no early terminiation fee.
There is SERO plans for Nextel phones, but many people have posted saying that it's easier to activate new lines than to get your current plan switched over to a SERO plan. So you kind of have 2 options I guess: 1) switch to Sprint, 2) try to get Sprint to change your current plan.

No, you will not need a data plan. The SERO plan includes unlimited power vision access.

that's the issue though i don't use powervision I realy dont even know what i use i know i have to pay an extra 15 bucks a month for it! Can anyone help me with explaining this I have the moto q and i think it's refered to as a data plan?

If you have the SERO 1250 plan, then unlimited powervision is included for free. On your Moto Q powervision allows you to get your email, surf the web, and you can even connect to Sprint's EVDO network if their is coverage in your area.

Hey just wanted to let you know that I just went through switching from Nextel to Sprint. My situation might be a little different as I was wanted to get away from Nextel and go to Sprint. What I did was activated 2 new SERO lines under a new account. After receiving the phones called in and ported over my Nextel numbers. After all is said an done I have 2 new phones on SERO and the Nextel lines have been cancelled with no early terminiation fee.
There is SERO plans for Nextel phones, but many people have posted saying that it's easier to activate new lines than to get your current plan switched over to a SERO plan. So you kind of have 2 options I guess: 1) switch to Sprint, 2) try to get Sprint to change your current plan.

Why are you paying an extra $10 for Unltd texting? Should be included in your SERO Plan. That expires 09/29/07. Call or email to get that and your $15/mo Vision (Power Vision or data) removed since they are included in your SERO Plan and while at it, hit them with loyalty discount (5years 10-20%?) Don't forget your additional $100 mail-in rebate on the Q ending 09/03/2007 (Go to the Sprint Rebate page for details)

Any recent (Aug-present) success stories of Nextel users (in-contract) converting to Sprint SERO? If so, did you order via web or SERO telesales?
Also, I stopped by a local indirect and they have been converting Nextel users to Sprint with no ETF and new 2yr pricing on phones, even if they were still under contract with Nextel. Would SERO work the same way?

Sure dahlink...! We're all here to help each other, aren't we? But you have to take some time to take care of your issues with Sprint CS or ecare... I think they're really trying hard to change their image after that July media fiasco and so the next time you call CS, you wouldn't have to wait all day and be given the runaround for a simple question or bill error correction. Much luck...!

Go for it...! You've got nothing to lose, I always say, "you don't ask, you don't get." Tell 'em to kill those extra charges, they've been included on the plan and if they don't know, shame on them... they should know their product. It clearly sez on the SERO page that unltd texting feature expires 09/29/2007...

Now on the sero webpage it's showing a new date than what was discussed.
I've also read from a few people that if you sign up for SERO before the deadline date free text stays as long as you have the plan. Is that incorrect, and you only get free text until the end of the promotion? That's one of the big reasons I signed up with sero/sprint through my friend, otherwise I'd keep using net10 since I don't call more than a 150-200 min. a month.

Actually, that is what they now call the Nationwide Volume Discount. So basically corporate discount = Nationwide Volume Discount = Sprint Employee Value Program. Hope that helps.

I finally got my plan everything is good so far. I didn't choose high end phone at this point b/c I'm waiting for HTC Touch/ HTC Vouge to come out next month.
However, when I login to my account online I am unable to see following under Usage Detail:

I have a SERO plan and have not been charged for any of the items you mentioned. I have Picture mail, don't know about Video mail never tried it.
Sprint Mobile Email is an application that's free to download and it doesn't cost any extra to use if you have a SERO plan.

If you purchased a Power Vision capable device, since UNLIMITED POWER VISION is included, unless you purchase premium services such as ringers, games or any downloadables, you won't be charged extra for those you mentioned above. Once you get your new HTC Touch or Vogue, when you swap ESN remind them that Power Vision is included in the SERO Plan you are on, you wouldn't want to make another phone call just for that if the CSR is not aware of the difference bertween Vision and Power Vision.

Are there any new promo emails like holiday and savings@sprint.com? All the old ones expired. Does anyone have any new ones? I do have a friend at sprint but I'm not sure how many phones he is allowed on his email. I didn't need to use it for my setup, but a mutual friend was hoping to just avoid using his email at all if he could use a promo one.

Just FYI, there is no longer a limit to how many SERO referrals an employee can give, so if you know someone, don't worry about using his/her email. They used to limit it to 5, but if you read through the threads here, they soon after removed that limit. So unless it has been added back on (which I doubt), you should be good to go. Enjoy SERO.

Just the way I said it, all those three... Credit, ASL (Account Spending Limit) ELIGIBILITY... Sprint can determine you are eligible for ten lines, then you'd have ten lines...:hee:

Do you know when it stopped working as far as processing? I used it in August (clearly a few months ago) but usually if its not valid in the system it won't let you use it on the site aka savings@sprint.com which used to work on the site and for processing but now doesnt...also for awhile you could only do sero over the phone from the website design now it looks like you can go all the way through online which makes things much easier. But let me know about @sprintemi.com and how you know it doesn't work for processing anymore.

Gotcha, didn't mean to sound defensive or on the attack when I was asking about if you essentially had proof it didnt work. But on the other note, it is really easy to find @sprint.com emails, if you want to get ballsy just google '@sprint.com' although some people say that from time to time they check in with the person whose email you use which could come back to bit you in the *****. But people just googling the addy's has worked before.

Question.....I have been reading about switching to SERO...I am an existing customer and am confused on how to switch a number to a go phone, and then back to SERO.....can someone please pm me or respond....can i just by a go phone, and have the go phone number switched to my sprint number, and vice versa?? i dont want to get an etf, and a coworker wants to pick up my old plan so I dont want to cancel. It's called porting. To port a number to a "go" phone if your line is not out of contract will cancel your contract and you'll be responsible for the ETF.

Happi, F and F stands for fair and flexible not anything to do with family. The fair and flexible allows for you to go over you minutes in groups and only pay incramentally (sp) i.e. if you have the 500 minute plan you go over to 501-530 you pay $5 flat fee when you go 531-5xx you pay a total of $10 plus the 30 monthly fee. Hopefully that explains that a little better...also NO family sharing whatsoever on SERO all are individual lines, some people say that if they can get retentions to give them a good deal on a family shared plan then its better to just keep that cause its cheaper. But all in all you cannot share lines on SERO they all have to be individual accounts.

I've read this site for a while now. I've been impressed by the deals that people can find, but "slickly" and in a more straightforward (or"honestly") as a poster in a another group called it.
I tried a code, totally legal, for the SERO program but was told I was not eligble. It is late, I am tired here, so my spelling is off, please forgive me. Anyway, online, the site said my contract expired a year ago. This was news to me. THat was the last straw. I had no idea. At this point, Sprint was rated last in the CHicago area for everything by Consumer Reports, My motorola RAZRv3 is the biggest piece of junk ever--in the last 6 months, I have bought 3 batteries, had the entire phone replaced, and two power cords--and it still doesn't work in terms of keeping a charge. As all of you know, the store people were both undereducated about the products and incredibly rude. For example, the MANAGER who told me that clearly my v3 was not working because I was using it over the talk time. Really, I asked calmly? A fully charged phone dies after a simple 20 minute conversation? Yes, quite often it does. These phones are not designed for long talk times...and on and on and on. I got the phone for $55 and probably spent ove r$50 on fixes that were not covered. I'm sure you all know ways I could have gotten Sprint to help, and I probably should have asked for advice. Regardless, throw in the fact that I had 5 phone calls drop today, I called cancellations 3 times in 2 days earlier in the week and their computers were down (tonight, the website was down and the powervision service too). ThenI called again two times tonight and spent a total of 50 minutes on hold. When I finally got through, I was put through to a man who I could not understand and I could not hear. At that point? I hung up. I tried one last time. Why not?
And, here, I got lucky. I think, no question, it was luck. And patience. And, frankly, the help of a lot of people on here. I don't mean at all to talk down to anyone who used a loophole. Jeez, we all do it---just ask my accountant. Anyway, I had paid close attention to your posts, esp. about SEROs. Since the site side I was not eligible, I decide to add that to my list. I opened my conversation with Jimmy in New Mexico by telling him that my frustrations had nothing to do with him. He opened with a line straight out of a new age manual (I can see sprint spending millions to write this stuff--I want to take ownership of this issue...)...I was not optimistic. Instead, as I calmly listed my issues, and Jimmy was truly sympathic. I was not threatening. I told him a true story about Verizon, and told him it was a year ago, that they had offered to pay half of my termination fee if I came to them. I am a teacher, but not a member of a group that gets a discount from sprint. I told him about the SERO frustration. He said, ok, I can get you the new Centro for $100. But, as my sob story continued, and without too much negotiation from me, I can give a great deal. I said something that I had read on here=-"I know the computers limit you." His response? "Not really, I can do pretty much what I need to."
That, friends, is the spirit of Christmas.
My final deal. I had to add one year to my plan, which I am not overally happy about--that is more personal reasons with towers where I live--is:
a replacement for my junky Razr v3m (Bono got his cut, but the phone is going to dropped from a high cliff)
$100 palm centro
Old Plan:
1000 minutes
N/W 8pm
500 text messages (total $40)
Powervision $10 credit, so it ws $15 a month (normal $25)
insurance etc.
With my overages--which were occasional, it could almost reach 80 easy. This may seem like a good deal and maybe people think, hush little man.
This is the new SERO inspired plan:

I chatted with Jimmy about schools, his kids, the price of living in NM vs Chicago, his company's commitment to customer service (he is well aware of the new plan of Jan. 1 for Sprint to change their policies and was conversant in them). He was knowledge about the Centro. We even discussed whether more men or women ordered the Red. He said it was fairly even. My last phone was red, I was curious. He ordered a black one, because he only wanted red on his Corvette, which was LOL. He was, basically, a wonderful guy. He took time to treat me like a valued customer. He immediately knew I had been there 8 (really?) years. Maybe he was just happy not be yelled at. I don't know.
I'm not lecturing anyone, but I was so far gone with SPrint, that I my anger and frustration had left me. Had I not stumbled across the SERO group and/or gotten jack--- rep, I would now be an ATT customer waiting for the EDGE upgrade.
But thanks to you guys and, more my man Jimmy in New Mexico, Albeerque, I'm still with our corporate pals in Kansas City.
Maybe the lesson is something I so often forget. And Sprint. Being nice. People tick me off. I live downtown Chicago. There are tourists every where, stressed sales clerks, phone operators, everything. So, I took a different tack and frankly was lucky. Kindness certainly doesn't always work...but who knows. Maybe it was Santa.
One other note. I asked Jimmy at the end, to pass me to his supervisior to allow me to praise him. Her voicemail opening she sounded stressed! Asked for a phone number for her to reach you right away. I related my experience and literally how Jimmy kept me with Sprint. I hope that he gets a nice Christmas bonus. If nothing else, it is a reminder that this incredibly frustrating company--he can't fix my dropped calls or improve the complete idiots who man the stores here, but the good people should not be missed!
I said in my final message to her, that Jimmy is the type of guy who should be public face of their new campaign. I'm sure that all these fancy new (and admittly good) commericals are fine. You want to win people over? Use Jimmy.
Long story, but I hope the deal helps as a guide. My earlier deal? I got the details from a friend. They matched. Many of you are smarter than me. Do what you need to. I like and feel great.

my laziness stops me from calling CS cuz i kno i have to plot out a good 2hours at least.

I'm hoping to get Sero accts for my husband and son by the end of the month. My daughter will have to wait until next spring.
Anyone know if Sprint has changes in the Sero plan in the works?

LRb - Oh no! Please don't be PO'd with me. I did read all that you sent me (thank you very much for all of the info, greatly appreciated!), but I am still a bit confused. You mentioned F&F in the email, but when I go to the SERO website it does not offer a plan that shares minutes llike I currently have with my retention plan. That is where my confusion is. I understand that I could get 2 separate SERO plans of 500 minutes each, but I would like to just have 2 phones that share minutes so that I only have 1 bill to deal with. And from what I see on the SERO site, that is not offered.
You happen to be in the midst of the best of both worlds, that's why I said check it out and sent you other stuff nothing to do with SEROs, I hope I am not that intimidating as for anyone to go back to in case of any questions... I would have explained it to you further to help you make the best decision. Unfortunately, the space in the forums and what I could type (which I hate cuz I'm not the greatest typist) limits us in further exploring/explaining what's available to you, but in the long run, it's your decision and only yours to make. We're just humble volunteers whose intention it is to help... LRB

I live in CT and mine is 33.60 out the door (they took off my insurance for some reason so thats another $7 and I'm not sure if that gets taxed but) So for the plan and taxes alone there ya have it. But taxes will differ state to state, so $3.60 taxes/surcharges from CT blah blah blah

Thanks, I live in a different region but I am sure it is similar. I'm just debating whether to stay on my parents family plan or get my own line using Sero. So I am figuring out the cost difference. My line costs about 18 per month, so this is pretty tempting.

Hey guys, new member here.
I've been looking around for a new phone and plan for me and my wife. I wanted a smart phone, but I didn't want to have to file bankruptcy based on smartphone monthly plans. :)
So anyway, for the first time, I'm becoming a sprint customer. I just ordered my SERO based plan online. Everything went smoothly so far. Got my confirmation number, got my account setup. I hope everything stays smooth, but I'm pretty sure something will come up eventually. Can anyone fill me in on what I can expect from here out? I got the free overnight shipping. How many days does their orders generally take to ship? Are there often problems during this phase that they will call about? How often does a new SERO account generally get converted to a non-SERO account?
Finally, my old account with AT&T doesn't expire until Jan, at which point I'd like to swap out and get my old number on these phones. Do they generally let you port a month into having your account?

Well, as of this morning (I ordered on the night of Dec 11, it is now Dec 12 afternoon) my order shipped out at 2 am in Louisville KY, arrived in my home town of Lexington KY at 7 am, and immediately went out on the truck for delivery. UPS must be kicking stuff through as fast as they can for the holidays. It's awesome that I'm going to get my package the same day it was shipped out.
I want to check my account and ensure that it is on the SERO plan, but sprint.com has been temporarily unavailable since I woke up this morning. Hopefully it comes up soon, because I've heard of peopl
