I still have my employee plan active from my former employer and I don't use it at all but I keep it around because its a really great plan for 20 bucks. I was wondering, since i dont use it for voice, could i buy the U720 USB modem and use it with my unlimited powervision plan? It wouldn't be my main internet connection but i figured i would get more use out of the line as a modem than a phone. I know if i used it a ton it would probably throw a flag up but with occasional usage would this work? I still know some people at my former employer so getting the esn put on my account without the modem plan wouldn't be a problem. Thanks for the help
The system wouldn't allow a connection card with only a powervision plan. But even if it did what you are talking about is fraud plain and simple. You don't work for the company yet you still take advantage of the plan and that's not enough now you want to get what everyone else pays at least $50 a month for and only pay $15 in direct violation of the terms and conditions YOU agreed to.
If you want the connection card pay for it like everyone else and don't commit fraud. If Sprint ever found out you would be cancelled in a New York minute and those friends who helped make it happen would be unemployed.

Yes, I am a big time scam artist. Calm down a little bit buddy, it isn't that big of deal. If you would of read my post you would see that I do NOT even use the phone any more so essentially I am paying them 20 bucks for an innactive line, is that fraud? It seems like Sprint's duty to check up on business plans and verify that the account holder still works for the said company. But aside from all that, I asked a simple question, I expected a simple answer...not to be lectured. If the cops come take me away for "fraud" then you can rest assured that it was me and not you. And since i used to work for a sprint retailer the system would allow the ESN change, the only thing that would stop it is when sprint looked on the account and saw that it was a modem ESN without the correct data plan. Can anyone else give me some insight on this topic, if you have something to similar to what the guy above me had to say than please just refrain from posting because it is not the answer I am after. I just want to know if anyone has accomplised such a task. It essentially would be the same usage that I did when i tethered my treo to my laptop and i only had the vision plan then so i can't imagine why it wouldn't be theoretically possible atleast. Thanks
Oh well if you're not using it, it's ok to set up a plan in direct violation of your user agreement and purposely set up an incorrect plan to save your self $760 over 2 years....
If you don't want to be "lectured" don't come on here and ask how to cheat my company..

and BTW I am calm.
Excuse me for trying to save 760 dollars for something that i rarely ever use. I would use it maybe once a week, i guess you would be OK with throwing down that much money every month for something that you hardly ever use. I simply asked the question to open up the possibility. Are you going to start pointing fingers at every single person who tethers on a standard vision plan, or have you already taken the time to do that as well? And you must be Gary Forsee seeing as sprint is "your" company, shouldn't you be doing more important tasks? I would appreciate you no longer responding to my thread as it is very unhelpful and I am pretty sick of dealing with it to tell you the truth. Now excuse me as I go browse the internet on my neighbors wifi and watch my tv through my hijacked cable. :Popcorn2:
I didn't post to earn your appreciation. I will continue to post when and where I please.
I say my company because it feeds my family. Gary Forsee doesn't own the company...the shareholders do..
As far as pointing fingers at everyone tethering, If someone posts asking how to do it without paying for it I reply stating that if you want it pay for it.
What you are talking about doing is wrong and you know it. YOU are the one who said the plan was incorrect and that's the only way Sprint would find out.
I would certainly like to save $760 but not by stealing it from a company I used to represent. If you wouldn't use it that much why not sign up for the 40Mb plan for $39.99 a month...that's why it's offered, for people that don't use it that much.

as stated earlier, i was asking a question to open the possibillity. You could of done a whole lot better in your initial response, but instead you make me out to be a fraud and a thief. Everyone can have their own opinion and I will respect it, but it's all about how someone goes about voicing thier opinion that matters. Unfortunately you chose to do so very poorly. So thanks for your input....now could someone else please respond to the thread with their own opinion?
This will be my last post until someone other than the OP posts here. I agree let's get someone elses opinion....like a Moderator.
I wasn't stating my opinion I was stating a fact. If you set up a plan in violation of the terms and conditions in order to get a service at a discounted rate by having friends who work for the company violate their terms of employment to save your self over $700... it is Retail Fraud and because of the amount and depending on the where you live it may even be a Felony according to the law, not my opinion.
As far as how I approached I thought it was tactful and calm...you read excitement into it. That IS my opinion.

I currently have an 8200. I had one laying around and I wanted to sell my treo since i didnt use it. If that wont work, what is a cheap ev-do phone with bluetooth that i could buy? It needs bluetooth because i use a mac and most phones won't tether over usb....i wish they would though.

I tether over USB with a PPC6700. I've never tried it over bluetooth but I know it can tether over USB because I do that all the time.

yeah, i used to have the 6700 as well. I just dont want to spend that much on something that i would only use as a modem. I currently have three cingular phones, two of which are 3g, only problem is there isnt 3g coverage where i live yet so its pretty painful to tether over EDGE. ANy other suggestions?
