View Full Version : Sanyo 8400 - Not receiving some calls
I got the 8400 2 months ago. I have been noticing that I am not receiving some calls at all. The phone while having good signal (all bars present), does not ring at all (ringer vol at max) when someone calls and such calls do not show up in missed calls list. It only happens intermittently but everyday. If someone calls (and the phone does not ring, so the call is not answered) and leaves a voicemail, only then it shows up in missed calls list.
I checked the settings, everything seems to be OK. Am I missing something or is the phone defective?

LOL join the club. They phone has a lot of flaws. But that might not be a problem of the phone but of Sprint. I don't get a lot of calls either. But I'll get a voicemail. But I also have that phone.

I have the 8400 and had the problem for quite a while after switching to it from my 8200. I didn't associate it with the 8400, because I had experienced the same thing periodically with my other phones. Right after the switch, I figured it was due to switch changes. Well, switch changes was Sprints excuse.
It went away and has been performing normally since then though. I still occasionally get a call that jumps right to voicemail, and while annoying, I'm happy to at least get the VM from it. I've had a few, on much rarer occasions, where my phone will not even register a missed call.
Last weekend my work called my cellphone and it went to somebody else. I would have chalked it up to him just dialing the wrong number, but I was on his speed dial. He called 2 times with the same result. Obviousy in that case it was Sprint screwing things up. Oh well, it happens....

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/4.0 (MobilePhone SCP-8400/US/1.0) NetFront/3.3 MMP/2.0)
You can also check to be sure that vision is disabled. For me, it sometimes will keep the connection going after I turn off the browser so to prevent that, you can disable it.

I had this problem with the M610 and I associated it with the phone. It happened quite often. With the 8400, it will still happen but I'd estimate it at 1 in 10 times. With the M610, it was probably more like 5 out of 10. I attribute part of it to being in a fringe location on the Sprint network. For the most part, Sanyos have been very stable for me. I receive calls more than I miss them.
