Okay people! Really need your help on this one. I have a Sanyo 9000 and I got the phone when it first came out. Now almost two years later, its started to give me problems. My phone would shut off in the middle of the conversation (screen goes blank), and its not a drop call because it will have all the signal bars. When I try to access my picture mail, its shuts off (screen goes blank) then cuts back on after a few seconds so I can't receive pictures to my phone. My screen call and answer on hold makes this sharp siren when I send a caller to it. So I sent it back with the Total Protection plan. They sent me another 9000 about 3 months ago and now the new phone is giving me the same problems. Called Sprint upset and after 1 1/2 hours, they told me they couldn't fix it and take it to a Sprint store, so I did and after waiting for 2 hours, they told me they couldn't fix it. Now the problem is Sprint want to exchange my 9000 for a Fusic or Samsung M500. Don't really know much about either phones. Are these phone a downgrade or upgrade from my Sanyo 9000?

Take the Fusic. The screen is a little smaller but has features/options the 9k doesnt. The 500 is craptacular. I would stick with the 9k myself.

Between the Fusic and the M500, I would take the M500. The Fusic has some of the worst reception I've ever seen on a phone. Their features are identical other than the Fusic's interchangeable faceplates and FM transmitter.

Either phone is a major downgrade from the 9000. Unfortunately, that phone has been discontinued for a while now so it's going to be pretty rough trying to find one.

Keep looking, I suspect there are 9000's out there, have them do a search among the stores. :)

I would just wait until there are 9000s available for replacements. It may take a few days but the store should be able to put your name on a list. They can then check the availability list daily , or at least M-F, until the 9000 shows up. Either that or they should give you a brand new handset that is comparable to the 9000, IMO.

If you are forced to take the Fusic or M500, definately choose the Fusic.

On the flip side of a previous post, the Fusic has the best reception of any phone that I have ever had. I can't personally speak for the reception of the M500, but can definately say the Fusic is an excellent handset.

Thanks! Yeah, I asked them about the M1 but they just ignored me. I will definately try to get the M1 tomorrow if they cannot get the 9000 from another store. When I called the Total Protection people, they told me that I have to pay $50.00 for another refurbished phone, and I have to sign another 2 year contract. I don't get that!

You'll have to sign another 2 year contract? Why would you have to sign another 2 yr contract?

I don't know! Thats kinda why I just said this is beginning to be a load of crap. I pay my $7.00 dollars a month and that seems like it don't count for nothing. I should be able to receive another 9000 phone but since its is discontinued, I would take an UPGRADE. I really like Sanyo phones considering thats all I ever had. I've heard bad things about the Fusic and M500 from the reps at Sprint and SprintUsers. I would like to get the M1 but I think they would make me pay the full price. Going back to another Sprint or RadioShack today. Lets just hope I don't lose my temper.

The M1 is a acceptable alternative to the 9000, those other phones aren't. If they won't give you a M1, call/email executive services and explain the situation to them. Those other phones are a downgrade to the 9000. Do not agree to a contract extension! :)

there is no contract renewal via asurion.

there is no contract renewal via asurion.

This is correct, as long as when you call to activate your new phone, you specify the reason as being a service swap.

Also, regardless of store inventory, if you go to an Authorized Service Center, they would be able to advance exchange your phone and get you a replacement 9000. The depot has them in stock, I can assure you of that.

Get your phone replaced via advance exchange, sell it, and then make good use of your upgrade eligibility.

when you do an advance exchange well at least when I had the rep do one for me I wasn't able to keep my old phone.

What does that mean?
it means that you wont have to renew your contract. Just take your phone to get serviced. And see if they will do an advance exchange. The rep there will put all your info in and let you know what kind of phone you'll get in replace of the 9000 once they check your phone out.

That's correct, you're trading in your defective phone for the refurbished replacement..

He can sell the replacement phone, get the $150 upgrade discount and then use the profit from selling the 9000 to reduce the cost even more... :deal:

I've had issues like the OP's only when using the media player or web, using the insurance is an option but I don't want the 8400 and doesn't have enough memory for my music store library so waiting for the new hotness (with expandable memory) is what I'll do
