Sorry for the dumb post guys, but I have searched and need something spelled out to me in a completely childish manner. I set my wife up on a power pack 450 plan and added 300 sms option for $5. Well, i received the phone today, a pink katana, and saw the web button, and also the section to browse for ringtones and such. I was told that I would be charged if i click the icon or browse for availiable ringtones and whatnot. I called CC and they told me i need a power vision package and set up a 15 a month deal. They would not tell me if the Sprint Vision Pack (15 a month) included text messages or not, and if it would aleviate any charges from browsing from the nadse tfor ringtones and whatnot. Can someone be kind enough to explain to me the basics of the vision services and best way to utilize them. My wife primarily would be sending/receiving text messages, sending a few pictures/ and wants the ability to browse for ringtones and wallpapers and stuff from the phone.
Vision (or Power Vision) is Sprints name for Internet access on your handset. It doesn't include any text messages unless someone is on a very old (at least 3 years) Vision Plan. Power Vision is the name for internet access on EVDO phones. Your Katana is a vision only handset and the only package currently available is the basic Vision plan that includes unlimited internet access and Picture /Video Mail. Tethering to a computer and using the phone as a modem is NOT included in Vision packages. If you have a vision plan you can surf the internet from the phone and you will not be charged for the use. If you access the internet without a Vision plan you are charged 3¢ per Kb.
Text messaging (or SMS) is sepearate from Internet access. Sprint counts incoming and outgoing messages in the 300 you signed up for. Power pack plans can get unlimited text messages for $10 a month instead of the $15/month on other plans.
If yo have no text message plan you will be charges 15¢ per message. messages in addition to your what is included are only charged at 10¢ per message. (I.E. the first 300 are included in you plan any more than the 300 included will cost 10¢ per message sent andand/or received.)

I have a Fusic, my daughter has a Katana....any way to make either of these work as a modem for our computer (it has bluetooth too)? I need to be able to access the internet at times when I don't have anywhere to connect to and internet on the phone itself (at least on the fusic - haven't tried it on hers yet) is quite frustrating. Not to mention some of my programs on my computer need internet access to do what I need to do. I'd really rather not pay for yet another "line of service" ($40 - $50 for a computer card connection).
