ill do the east first
DET (1) vs ORL (8) Det should sweep this round quickly maybe going to 5 if det has a fluke and loses by one point (like last year)
(4)Miami Heat vs. (5) Chicago Bulls- Chicago in 6 (Don't underestimate the Bulls. They're better than last year and they gave the Heat the most trouble in the playoffs last season. This year they p*wned the Heat in the regular season. Whatever happens this will probably be the most entertaining series with the rivlary( between these two teams in the East).
(3) Toronto Raptors vs (6) New Jersey Nets
Probably the most interesting series. The Raps style of play matches the Nets up-and-down game. Again, the Raps have a collection of players who haven't seen playoff action as opposed to a tested Nets team. How does Jason Kidd get up and down the floor with T.J. Ford? If Mikki Moore can give the Nets 10/10 throughout the series and play halfway decent defense against Chris Bosh, the Nets win the series, though I think this will be one of those 1-0, 1-1, 2-1, 2-2, 3-2, 3-3 types.
(2) Cleveland Cavaliers vs (7) Washington Wizards
There isn't a lot to break down here. Arenas and Butler are out for the Wiz. Jamison has to carry the load. Guys who weren't EVEN in the league last year are playing minutes for the Wizards. Cleveland is going to crush them.
Cavaliers in 4

the Pistons do complain about a lot of calls and get a lot of tech's, but those things aside it's hard to deny the fact that at any time there's 4 guys out there that can hit a 3 and they've got some of the best passing big men in the league. their defense isn't as strong as when Ben was there but they've made up for it with scoring. Hate is a strong word i've seen it in so many threads i've posted in today. y are ppl so hateful around here? :)

I know it's way to hard for a Michigan fan to admit Ohio State has a good team football & basketball. Your post doesn't make any sense, at least not to me. I guess since Ohio State a had 1 bad game all year in football and basketball people like you call them "overated". I'm asuming your talking about Ohio State football was overated last year but wouldn't that mean Michigan football is overated as well. When Ohio State played Michigan they led majority of the game by 2 scores and really should've won by 14+ if Smith didn't fumble a few snaps. Michigan had there chance against Ohio State but didn't get it done. I guess you forgot about Michigan getting spanked by USC. Ohio State basketball team has won 2 Big Ten Championships in a row and once again they were one win away from another Championship but I guess that makes them overated. Dam Ohio State haters. :bang:

Robert Horry's late 3-pointer "Big Shot" Bob did it again Monday night sealing San Antonio's 96-89 comeback win in Denver. He has to be the most clutch 3-pointer shooter in NBA history.
If the Warriors beat the Mavs it will be the biggest upset ever in the 1st round NBA playoffs. It all depends on how Dirk does.

The Utah vs Golden State was a good game last night but what a great ending for Derek Fisher. Fisher had flown in from New York Wednesday evening after one of his twin 10-month-old daughters, Tatum, was in surgery all day for a rare cancer called retinoblastoma in her left eye. The surgery was succeesful. "We're still not out of the woods here for another two or three months," said Fisher, "but for now, everything is OK." Derek got a police escort from the airport and he stretched and took the court with 3:18 left in the third quarter. He forced a key turnover on Davis late in the game and hit a clutch 3-pointer. After the game Fisher was interviewed and he explained what kind of cancer his daughter has to inform the people because it's a rare type of cancer.

LeBron had a nice play when he split through Jefferson and Boone. The Cavs need to finish games better and LeBron better practice his dam free throws. lol Mikki Moore got a flagrant foul when he fouled Sasha Pavlovic hard. It fired up LeBron.
The other night Richardson got ejected when he foulded Okur hard. Davis gave Fisher a body check.
Last night Horry made a hard foul on Nash when he led with his shoulder. Stoudemire left the bench after the play so he could be suspended for 1 game but hopefully not. Some players are losing there cool.

There are two things that I've learned while watching the 2007 NBA Playoffs.
1) House of Payne is one of the unfunniest things I've ever seen.
2) David Blaine has no personality at all. Either that or he can't read too well.

I was a bit worried when James had to come out in the 3rd Quarter when he got his 4th foul. The Cavs only scored 8 points in the 3rd Quarter and let the Nets get back into it. James made great decesions in the 4th Quarter passing to wide open players. Donyell Marshall stepped up big time on his 34th Birthday making 6 out 10 from behind the 3 point line.
Well it's time to play the cry babies. A friend of mine that is a Piston fan thinks the Pistons will kill the Cavs. I guess he forgot how close the series was last year and that the Cavs did beat the Pistons at home this year. The Bulls had a lot of open shots in there series against the Pistons but just didn't make shots. If the Cavs hit open shots like they did last night they can win the series but Lebron can't do it all by himself.

uhhh lebron being taken out = everyone settles for retarded jumpshotsIf a team is double or tripple teaming a player (King James) then doesn't it make since to pass to a wide open player for a jump shot. Now if it was Kobe then he would try and score on 3 players. Prince cracked me up the other night when he made a play and then he flexed his boney arms. lol He doesn't look like a basketball player but I know he's good. The Cavs have to try and keep a body on him.
That is the key...the other players hitting their shots. That's the Cavs downfall. Most teams double/triple team Labron all the time which means other have to hit the open shot. Only about 20% of the games do they do this. Last night was a great example of when they do! They had Detroit on the BRINK of elimination last year and lost it by a stupid rebound or something. If they were that good last year, they should be able to put up a fight. Wasn't Coach Brown an assistant at San Antonio? That's why they have a good shot against the Spurs! Look what Don Nelson did to the Mavs...lol!

don't forget detroit is their own worst enemy. they got a bit too comfortable against chicago after being up 3-0, same thing against the cavs last year after game 2. I dont think last year is any indication of how this series will be, except the pistons winning of course :hee:

He'll probably make 2-3 of those "dumb" mistakes against them. He's Rasheed, love it or hate it. (I know how you feel tbaker). When he's playing well the Pistons play better. He never lost his focus until Det. started playing bad in game 3 of the Chicago series. Hopefully the pistons won't make the same mistakes against the Cavs.

Umm. Why is everybody rooting for the Cavs this year? They are playing Detroit. They have no match. Detroit is 3-1 against the Cavs in the regular season and have unparalleled depth compared to Cleveland. I see Detroit to be going to the finals.
Man...this Cavs Pistons series is looking just like last year! The Cavs are looking good. If this series is as tight as last year, the Cavs will be on top. Shoot...Lebron scored like 10 points tonight and the barely lost! Thursday night is going to the Cavs!

that game was ugly! the cavs got all the calls in the first half and the pistons got the calls in the 2nd. neither team really dominated. If look back at it Jordan was a lot better when Pippen played with him. Hughes is good but he's no Pippen. Lebron gets a lot of negative crap but he can only do so much. I couldn't imagine how good the Cavs would be if Pippen (in his prime) played with Lebron. The Cavs have got better as a team since last year but I'm not sure if they can win the series since there still lacking a good shooter. Lebron plays a ton of minutes so I hope he doesn't run out of gas like he did last year in game 7.

I hate to complane but it's to bad there not calling fouls late in the game. Rahseed pushed off for game winner and Hamilton Fould James once again but wasn't called.
Man, seriously. The Cavs should easily be up 2-0, I can't believe how good and bad they've played at the same time. They are getting great stops on the defensive end but they can't get it in the hoop. They are missing easy open shots. The push off by Rasheed was a little un-called for, that had me pissed. Oh well, I think there's no way the Cavs can continue to play bad, they'll win the 2 at home and we'll be stuck in a 3 game series.

I'll give you one, I don't know why that one was called where the ball was flipped over the front of the rim, that wasn't Lebron though, I don't think, the one on the left side was clearly goal tending.

I though that was pretty funny in game 1 when the offical didn't count a foul shot from a Cavs player after he made it. He got another shot but it figures he missed it. If we had that point Lebron would've just went for two points at the end of the game. Also in game 1 Hamilton held on to Lebrons jersey with both hands trying to foul Lebron but for some reason there was no call. Majority of officals in most sports will not call anything in the last seconds of the game becasue there chickens. lol I think if it's a foul then it should be called no matter if it's the last play of the game. I could only imagine how the Pistons team and fans would react if what has been happening to the Cavs happened to them.
Even though the officating has been not that good for I guess both teams I'm just happy that the Cavs vs. Pistons is a good series. Hopefully the Cavs turn the series around and win a few games at home. :fingers: As good as Spurs are playing I'm not sure if anyone can beat them.

It's not like the Pistons are scoring a lot of points on the Cavs. Not a good stat to have but the Cavs are the first team in the playoffs to not allow 80 points in 2 consective games only to lose both games. The Cavs have yet to play a good 4 quarter game in the Piston series. One thing about Lebron is for the most part he doesn't cry about the officating. King James will have a big game tonight. Anyone see the 90 footer James made in practice yesterday? :scare:
I was glad to see the Jazz win a game last night. Duncan didn't play much becasue of foul trouble. It's to bad Boozer left Cleveland.
james2K
05-27-2007, 03:14 PM
that's true, but i think that's as much the cavs d as it is the pistons playing sloppy on offense. this is the team that lead the league in to/assists ratio during the season. i will give credit to clevelands d for some of that.
the 90 footer is useless...hmm, wait, no that should be their entire strategy
it's cool to see though..
I was also glad to see Utah win last night. There's no team i hate more than the spurs for the very reason that they play just like an Eastern conf. team but can score too. Well, that, and the fact that they shouldn't have beat the suns, but that's JMO.
Boozer is an excellent player at both ends of the court, he'd make a good addition to the pistons towards the end of his career :hee: (but I wouldn't mind sooner.)

Well da the 90 footer is useless. It's hard enough to hit the back board or the rim let alone make a swish shot form 90ft. Lebron James is a special player. If the Cavs don't win it all this year King James will bring at least 1 Championship to Cleveland if not more before he's done playing ball. He's only 22 years old.

Cavs just don't have the late game exsperience that the Pistons do but last night will help the them out a lot. Hughes is probably going to be out for the series since he tore something in his foot. Gibson has shown that he can make shots and play good defense already in the series so he will have to continue to do that. Considering how close the games have been I think the Cavs have shown they can play with the Pistons with the team they have but it would be nice to have a good clutch shooter. Just remember you live and die with the 3-pointer.
CLEVELAND BABY!!!!! They are finally coming through in crunch time. Man, had they only got what they should have in one of the first two games, this series would be over! It is over baby! Cleveland in 6!
Man, what a good game, how about Gibson for Cleveland, don't know how many points he had but 12-12 FT. Sweet! And Lebron finally hits his FT's when it counts!

Thought that was funny when Hamilton talked crap before James shot his game winnig foul shots. I thought James was better then that last year when he did the same thing to a wizzards player. I would never count the Pistons out even if it was 3-0. Rasheed is two techs away from being suspended. Billups is playing like poop. lol

I thought you were the type that would give credit to any team when the deserved but I guss I was wrong. It should be 4-0 Cavs. The Cavs blew a wide open game winning 3-pointer in game 1 and a no call foul in game 2. Games 3 & 4 Cavs won without question so don't see how it could be 3-1 Pistons. Dude what the frick was McDyess' problem? Clothes lining Verajau!? And then getting all up in James' face. That brother better watch it, if he wants to play rough, lets play rough!

That was the best game I've ever seen. I won't lie I didn't think the Cavs would pull it out considering they were missing there foul shots and a few of there players fouled out. "King" James earned his nick name tonight. All 5 Pistons players could not stop Lebron James and he scored the last 29 of 30 points for the Cavs. Lebron ended up with 48 points. :wow: I didn't think the toss of Mcdyess was a bad call considering he closed line the Cavs player around the head but once again there were bad calls both ways. It's not over.

Here's what started this thread:
Umm. Why is everybody rooting for the Cavs this year? They are playing Detroit. They have no match. Detroit is 3-1 against the Cavs in the regular season and have unparalleled depth compared to Cleveland. I see Detroit to be going to the finals.

Cavs got it done and spanked the cry babies in game 6!!!!! :) I thought the Cavs were a player away but dam the rookie Gibson came up big scoring 19 points in the 4th Quarter ending up with 31. :headbang2 I loved it when Wallace got ejected. The Cavs beat the Spurs twice this season and if they play as good as they played the Pistons I think it will be a good series. I think the Spurs will be a little rusty in game one of the finals since they haven't played in a week.

....perhaps in video game land where lebron can score 100, there is this little team called detroit, who owned orlando with out 2 missing all stars **wizards...cough**, and then handed chicago they just deserves...spurs det like i said all alongIf King James wanted to score 100 points in a real game against a weak team he probably could. The little team called detroit got out played the entire series by the Cavs. As soon as Rasheed knew it was over he had a hissy fit like a 2 year old and got tossed which people predicted that happening. Bring on the excuses.
Pratically everyone will pick the Spurs over the Cavs in the finals just like everyone picked the Pistons over the Cavs in the Championship series. If the Cavs continue to play good defense, rebound and hit open shots I think they have a chance to prove everyone wrong once again. Lebron wants a ring bad and hopefully the rest of the team does to.
Thought this Cavs sign was cool.

Heck all 5 Piston players couldn't stop King James in game 5 so even if the Spurs double or tripple Lebron he will find the open player. Like I said if the Cavs make there open shots, play all 4 quarters and don't go to long without making a basket it should be a good series.

the pistons didn't deserve to win. they couldn't make any adjustment against cleveland's defense throughout the entire series. there were a couple games where they stopped lebron (notably game 6) but i dont think anyone knew how good gibson was gonna play.
if the pistons won game 5 they probably would have won in 7, but during the last 13 minutes of that game nobody would step into the lane. they looked like wussies out there, the old pistons would have taken a charge or something. not these guys. it was pathetic how they gave away the series, but i'm not taking away anything from cleveland because they played better than most everyone, myself included, thought they would.

It's nice to see a Piston fan tell it like it is. :tu: The Cavs really played great defense on Billups and Prince. I have a few friends that are Piston fans and for some reason it's way to hard for them to give the Cavs any credit. One dude is calling me a hypocrite and says he's not talking to me about sports anymore. The same friends are Michigan fans as well and they never give Ohio State any credit either. I was one of the first people to give Florida credit in football and basketball this year and it wasn't easy since I'm a Buckeye fan. I'm not sure how I can be hypocrite but oh well some people are just so childish. lol
I think the Pistons will have a totally different team next year. Rasheed and Billups are probably out.
That's what's great...the Cavs were given no credit and are Eastern Conf. Champs! That still sounds weird! They are sure to get a good off season pick up since they have proven themselves as contenters. Hello Billups!? If they'd add a solid starter that could hit shots consistantly, they would cruise to the Finals again next year and win it all. I just hope they aren't satisfied with the East title. They have a decent shot to beat SA. I hope they play like it and at least win 2 games, which they should, and NO SWEEP, that would be embarrasing!

It depends on how you look at it, the Nets play hard when it counts Cleveland handled them easily in 6. They controlled Detroit. Basically won the series 6-0.
Now the Spurs, common, the Nuggets are an easy beat, I'll give you the Suns, that was impressive. But the Jazz, common, they suck not at all the hottest team...geez.

Lebron had open jump shots in game 1 but either didn't take them or he missed them. When Lebron starts making open shots that will open up his drive and when that happens Lebron can pass to a player for a wide open jump shot. I think Mike Brown should start Gibson since Larry's foot is bothering him and Gibson has played great in the playoffs. The Cavs can't let the Spurs get there own rebound after a missed foul shot. Not to cry about a missed calls but if a player clearly gets knocked down (no flop) the refs need to call a foul on someone.

That missed traveling call on Parker late in the game when the Spurs went cold was big. The Cavs never quit and cut a 29 point deficent to 8 points. Lebron missed a lay up late and the Cavs missed to many foul shots not to mintion they only played 1 quarter. Spurs were on fire the first half. The Cavs aren't playing good but should play better at home. Hopefully the Cavs win game 3 and get some confidence they need. A lot of people counted the Cavs out win they were down 0-2 against the Pistons. Lebron will show that he is a special player.

Popvich and Berry said that they tried to foul Lebron James on the last play and it's obvious that Bowen grabed Lebron but the foul once again wasn't called. After the shot Lebron told the offical it was a foul. It was another big missed call because Lebron was in the act of shooting and he should've got 3 shots. It wasn't why the Cavs lost but who knows if James would've made all three shots. He made 7 out of 8 in the game. In the post game interview Lebron James was asked if the last play was a foul and he said it was incedental contact which is a class act by him becasue he's not making accuses. The Cavs had there oportunities to win the game but they shot terible once again missing wide open shots shooting 2-15 from the 3-point line. The Spurs didn't score for 4 minutes late in the game, Lebron missed open shots and a few lay ups.

Could not have been better said. They lost in the record books but outplayed SA that last quarter. They missed a ton of wide open shots. If they play like that again, they will get the win. That last play looked like a foul too. But like you mentioned, Lebron real mature about it.

I really think because Lebron is so big/muscular he doesn't get as many calls as a player Parker's size. The Cavs made most of there open shots against the Pistons but there missing them against the Spurs. I will be a dissapointed if the Cavs do get swept in the Finals but I'm just really happy that Cavs beat the Pistons and got to the Finals. Yeah, had a great year, the better team definitely won. As for next year, I'm just a little bit anxious. LeBron has way too much faith in his current teammates. He stated in the post game interview that he doesn't want to make any roster changes, and expects he and everyone on his team to get better. Call me cynical but I don't think anyone on the Cavs right now can be or become the alternate playmaker that they NEED, no matter how much better LeBron gets.
Hughes is inconsistent and injured way too often, so I could do without seeing him in the wine and gold next year. Marshall and Jones STILL aren't playing the roles they were signed for, I STILL think they need to go. Gibson, Pavlovic, and Varejao have a ton of potential, I'd like to see them stay. Pavs, dude can drive, just needs to learn how to finish. Varejao just needs poise, he makes way too many stupid decisions in big situations.

I agree on everything you said. Not sure who but the Cavs need a good outside shooter. Ilgauskas played Duncan decent but if the ball isna't passed right to him he probably won't catch it.
Before someone says something I will admit that I was part wrong that Lebron James wouldn't let the Spurs sweep them. After the first two blow outs I was just happy that games 3 and 4 could've gone either way. Not to take anything away from the Spurs defense but the entire Cavs team missed a lot of open shots which was the opposite what they did against the Pistons. Still can't beleave the Spurs had like 5 offensive rebounds off there missed foul shots. I would assume Lebron was a little tired during game 4 considering he was up late with the birth of his second child not to mention the Pistons series probably took a toll on him. Figures the Cavs make a few 3-pointers when it's to late. Dam Cleavland jinx. :bang: Hopefully next year the Spurs don't make it to the finals. lol
