I use On Demand a fair amount. The 'Late Breaking News' category and maybe the 'Weather' are free, but some of the channels are 'Premium' -- when I first got the treo 700p, I could access all channels as a trial, but after the (30 days I think?) trial period, I had to pay an extra $5/mo if I wanted access to the Maps and other Premium content.

Even though I also have the free google maps program for palm (a must-have!) I still pay the $5 for the premium content - I don't use the financial part, but I find it useful to have more than one mapping program available, and sports schedules, etc. I like browsing the Late Breaking News articles when I am waiting in line somewhere.

There are some free programs for the palm that give you quite a bit of the content on On Demand, that are worth checking out, including

Directory Assistant (http://home.triad.rr.com/rlwhitt/palm) which can be configured to use the free Google Maps program (http://www.google.com/gmm) for displaying maps from entries found.

I use it almost daily to read some of the news stories. I've used it to look up stores and restaurants when traveling and the map feature also comes in handy! I have the Power Vision Ultimate plan, so I guess I get all the features without paying extra. I've never been prompted to pay more when using it.

It's a quick way to check on my stocks. Use it every day.

I use it every day to check the weather and to fill in slow spots checking the news.

Seems to be sort of like a 'push' service where content is pushed/pulled to the phone for you to read offline.

Do you have issues where it doesn't always update?

I use it for movies
I used to use the dictionary but then I downloaded an app
The thing I don't understand is I have been through a few PV phones that have this and first they charged, then I unsubscribed and on My new phone I thought they changed it and didn't charge but then I saw I was still being charged on a recent bill and the lady couldn't find way to remove it

I have the Sero plan and I don't pay anything for it. I can even view it while roaming which is a good thing. I look at the News, Weather, and Sports.
