Ok, well first of all. This is my first post. Anyways... I started working at Radioshack about 2 1/2 weeks ago, and as you all know they carry Sprint phones, and plans. Now, my USCC plan ends in about a month. And plus I'm just sick of there ****ty service. But now my question is what kinda of discount, if any, could I receive from Sprint? I did do some browsing and searching, but it just made me wonder about some more stuff:

The 15$ Plan? Am I elgible for something like by working at Radioshack?

And I called the Sprint 1-888 number and talk to one of their representatives and he said I could get 18% off my plan? Here I read I get 11% So which one is it?

Then, is the % off my bill per month, or just off the phone?

Anyways, thanks for all your help, and putting up with me,

PCS Free & Clear Plan - RS Employee Plan

$20.00 PCS Free & Clear Plan
Nationwide Long Distance Included
3000 Anytime Minutes
Unlimited PCS to PCS Calling
50 Text Messages
1000 Night and Weekend Minutes
Caller ID, Call Waiting
Three-way Calling
Voicemail

You can add UL N&W for $5, UL text - used to be $5 but the price on that changed I think, nights a 7pm for $5, America coverage $5, insurance is $7

Power Vision and RL are free and you also get up to $50 download credit.
Shouldn't be a contract but someone else would have to verify as I just switched to it and I was already in contract.
If there is no contract you will have to pay full price for your phone though.
Get the Cingular employee plan too, it's also good though I can't remember all the details of that one.

Don't call Sprint about that though, talk to your rep, as they are the ones that have to set it up.

My rep here also does a thing where every new activation I sell, I keep on a tracking and fax to her at the end of the month and she gives Me a dollar credit towards My bill for each one so that helps too.

The other option is to sign up for a regular account and just get %15 off but you come out better with the employee plan unless you need more than one line.

As soon as you quit you'd loose the plan.

O rly?

Technically isn't that the same with employee discounts? Yet you still get the discount even if you no longer work for that company. I was under the impression once you are on a plan/discount, it stays until you make changes.

Plus how's Sprint going to know the moment you quit?

Jah aye sun, is right. If you dont call up notify Sprint that you quit working, you will continue to get the plan and the discount(s).

sometimes your rep will actually notify Sprint and they will make you change it but it is very rare that they follow up

me, and teh_toidi have the radioshack cingular and sprint employee plans. sempregatto has the sprint one i know, and may have the cingular one as well.

both are no contract plans and only terminate when your manager or rep calls and has it ended. we had a girl quit today who was on the cing one, and my mgr told her that he wasnt gonna call and have it turned off as long as she stayed in touch with him and the company. so it depends on the mood and niceness of the reps and mgr.

the cing one is 2,000 mins $25 a month, and the sprint one is 3,000 mins, $15 a month. the cing one sometimes has phone discounts dependin on the time of the year. i got a lg cu500 for $84 outright when i signed up for the cing one. phones for the sprint one is you get a $150 bill credit towards a handset when you sign up for it.

i dont have the sprint one anymore, i ported my # to the cing shack plan, and was lucky enough to pick up a sprint swac one. $15 a month, unlim everything, no contract, upgrade once a year at sprint employee price. (just gotta know ppl)

i havent been in contract with any carrier since 04 :tu:

yeah the RS plans are cool. As josh said I have both the spring and cingular one. The sprint one can be done 1 of 2 ways. you can buy a phone outright, sign a contract and get a $150 bill credit. 2(depends on your rep) sign up for a normal account. get all the instant savings. Stay on it for a month, Then have your rep switch you to the employee plan.

Also as for quiting and losing your plan that depends on the rep. I have a few ex co-workers that havent worked for RS in over a year for one and just under a year for the other and there both still on the plan.

And as for the Cingular plan the only thing I wish it had included was Mobile to mobile calling. I used all my minutes on it last billing cycle.

Acctually it's the Sprint rep's job to call in switch the plan back if you quit, it has nothing to do with whether or not you call in yourself. Some stores just have nice regional reps.

yeah I have the Cingular one too, My dude uses that line
I know way more people on Sprint and like teh-toidi said there is no mobile to mobile on it plus only 5mb of net so I prefer My Sprint line
and if I remember correctly, any add on features are ten dollars so that definitely sucks

our rep does that here too, i think they all do. you can max out $30 a month for the anr fax in line credits. we max out every month cuz cingular dominates service and coverage here. we do about 1 sprint to 30 cingular phones. i never have to pay a bill, my cing line is always at like $-17 or -$26 ish lol.

your Cingular rep does that?
only My Sprint rep here
but I only sell a few Cingular phones a month
usually about 30-40 Sprint
at least 10 prepaid

So I should take to the Rep at the store I work at? Or at the Sprint store in town?

Because I'm pretty sure the people at my Radioshack know nothing about it, because they all have Verizon for some reason.

Oh thanks for the quick feedback. Thanks a bunch.

You should talk to your Sprint rep. Ask the manager or fellow employee how to get ahold of them. Or the rep should visit or call your store occasionally. Everybody probably has Verizon there because it may be big in that area and RS used to sell them before Cingular. Alot of My coworkers still have Verizon.

About The cingular plan, and being a RSH plan. Do you think that you will lose the employee plan if you move away from RSH? I think I"ll have my sprint plan for life, but, I need a 2nd line for my mom.

I hate cingular, but it may work for my parents.

Just watch out on the credits. Remember the recent training RS employees had on COE!!!! I know of some managers that were fired recently for problems in this area!

i think the sprint plan is $20 bucks a month now. it changed recently? $5 mobile to mobile. 5 for unlimited nights and weekends start at 7. $10 for unlimited text. tell your manager to hve the sprint rep fax u the new form. the form will also give u more options like roadside and etc.

and if u you do get sprint, make sure to buy a power vision phone and ask the radioshack sprint rep to put phone as modem on it. it is now free with the employee plan. well your phone has to be able to tether too. it allows you to get broadband internet by connecting your phone to our computer.thats hard to get on a sprint phone period and its a feature that usually cost $60. so make sure to write it on the fax and to call and tell them.

hey and if u do quit and also decide you dont want sprint you can easly cancel it without paying the $200 etf. since the terms and conditions will have changed.
